3.0 out of 5 stars So close but so far

Entering chords is somewhat klunky in that you have to scroll back to see the nut if you want to remove a note. It would be easier to edit chords up the neck if you just tap an existing note to remove it and have the string marked as no-play. Having the Mute/Open displayed at the top as you scroll up the neck would be another. way to remove. a note.

Also putting the note name in the note dot would help learning the fretboard. I know the chord notes are shown as text. but that doesn't help learning notes on each string on the fretboard.

OK app for $0.99 but could be better and sell for more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent app, but Standard Ukulele tuning is wrong; (workaround avail).

gCEA tuning for the ukulele is set-up as gCAE. Otherwise this would be 5 stars. You can manually set tuning, which is necessary in this case. It is a 5 star app once this is fixed. Chord finding seems to work well - I'm a beginner, but I don't see any glaring problems there.

Naming chords in the Reverse lookup seems to be OK, too, though some of the names don't match many other charts - they're close, usually differing only in the slash-chord name (all open is Am7/G vs simply Am7). This probably makes sense as the standard chord is ACG and all-open contains the fifth (E), but this could cause confusion if using other references.

The Scale Calculator is also pretty useful. I think functionality here could probably be expanded, but the basic functionality is good, providing the scales for Major, Minor, Major Pentatonic, Minor Pentatonic, and Blues. The more esoteric scales (found in the Guitar Grimoires) could be added for future improvements (the "about" section makes this appear to be a dynamic project).

In all, though, this app is well worthwhile!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Really Good One, But Not The Best For Me

Trying to decide between "Chords+" and "Chord! Free" was a difficult decision, but "Chord! Free" has worked out the best for me. Although its interface is a bit more complicated, the ability on "Chord! Free" to find fingerings for "slash" chords (chords with altered bass notes) was the deciding factor. I also feel that app displays the most common fingering for chords first, while "Chords+" sometimes seems to display variations in a random way. On the other hand, "Chords+" does have a somewhat simpler interface. Both work well on my Kindle Fire HD, so you might want to try both to find your personal favorite.
