5.0 out of 5 stars Engaging and data friendly

This app is fantastic. I use it in my special education classroom and it not only helps with fine motor skills but it helps students work on task completion and many other goals! It is user friendly! You can create your own word lists and use your voice or the the student/childs voice to create the list. You could also input letters by sound instead of letter name. It includes printable worksheets and a data section so you can see improvement and determine areas that need extra practice!

4.0 out of 5 stars really good for kids learning letters

really good for kids learning letters, overall great tool. I set it to where my kid does not have to follow so stringently on the line but allows some leeway as they are learning she likes this much better. One negative is you have to follow the way they instruct you to write a letter, line, shape etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hand writing without tears in tech form! Works great for my kids.

Another SN mama recommended this app to us for our son. We homeschool and use it with a stylus and/or finger for encouraging handwriting practice with our son with SN. It is extremely visually motivating and rewarding. Has HWT styles and the ability to make custom word lists. This app has also been enjoyed by my typical reluctant writer to practice spelling words.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good app, but downloading to each profile was a pain

I like the apps but did not like that I have to pay and download separately for each profile on the tablet!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite App!!!
Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2018
This app is amazing! I love that you can create your own word lists. It also has a wide variety of handwriting styles. My favorite is HWT. As a teacher and mom I am thankful for a fun way to encourage my 4 year old son to use correct letter formations and begin recognizing his high frequency words. (family names, his favorite things, basic sight words.)
It also has a great review feature where you can watch a video clip of their formation to see what they are doing well or may need help with.

5.0 out of 5 stars We downloaded the lite version and upgraded to the paid app

My son is struggling with his handwriting. I downloaded about 6 apps to try them out. There were just 2 that made the short list and this was one of them. When ended up selecting this one for two reasons: the graphics are so neat when you fill in the letters and really mesmerize my son. He uses a stylus to trace and it works well. The second reason, and this is important, is that the way the instructions go with it, it asks you to trace in a gliding motion. The other apps we had would require you to actually pick up the stylus/break contact with the surface in order to change directions within a letter. However that isn't the proper way to learn to write. One continuous fluid motion is recommended by my son's occupational therapist. Therefore we felt this program was the more realistic and helpful for him.

4.0 out of 5 stars My son loves it, and he's learning to draw his letters, but some minor issues could be fixed, and a major crash issue.
Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2018
My son loves this app. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there are some issues that I think could be resolved (hopefully in a future update?).
The worst issue is that if the kindle goes to sleep (either on its own or by him pushing the button) while the app is still running, when he goes back in, there are black boxes in place of the letters on the selection page (though the tracing still works), and it no longer audibly says the letter and sound. I have to restart the Kindle for this to get fixed. If I let him keep playing in that state, it will eventually freeze up completely in the middle of a letter, and require a full reboot of the Kindle anyway. I may add a video of the fallout (read: terrible-twos tantrum) next time this happens, if I happen to catch it. Boy does he get mad when the arrow just won't move from the middle of the letter, no matter how many times he tries.

Overall, I like this app, and would be happy to buy others by this company. (We also have the words and phonics one, which has a few more issues but at least hasn't frozen up on us yet).

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good for students with autism

Very easy to use, the sounds are very calming. It’s great for kids up to about 10 years of age. Great teacher and therapist tool. Best if used with a stylus to carryover to paper and pencil writing
