    I am a homeschool mom and have used Kevin Bradford's learning games since my kids were in preschool! Now they're in 3rd and 4th grades and they still love them. Like I said, we homeschool and these games are in no way designed to replace homeschool curriculum; but they are a really great, fun supplement. We have a policy of playing learning games for at least 15 minutes before they can play other games on our Kindle or Android tablets; and when I suggest that they play their grade's "learning games," they usually end up losing track of time and playing them for quite a while. This whole family of apps is a great supplement to any homeschool or traditional schooling family who wants to give their kids a fun way to practice skills.

    This app covers a wide range of topics appropriate to the level. It is easy to use and the different types of activities breaks the monotony for children. The games also challenge users to do better.
    Every child is different, an app that just spews out answers would even be boring to some children. At this age it is important that parents ensure their children are spending time learning and practicing. This app does the job of teaching and practice, whether or not your child is entertained. I have 1, 2, 4 & 5 for 2 children.

    I dont feel we should have to pay for an app that we have to upgrade anyways the following year when the kids move on to another grade level.

    I was pleasantly surprised that my granddaughter chose a game that actually was a learning tool. When she comes over she picks up the Kindle and plays this game. It is interesting and more than reinforces what she is already learning in the 4th grade at this time. She is actually liking to work with some fractions and word problems, before being introduced formally to them at school. I hope there are more like this for the Kindle.

    My daughter enjoyed these at first, but after a day or so she said, "Mommy, it's kind of boring. There's a lot of doing just the same thing all the time." She goes back to them from time to time, but only for very brief periods. I played a bit to see why she got bored, and I can definitely understand. There's no real goal to any of the games - you just keep on earning points until you either lose or quit. There's no point to the points. No leveling up, no earning achievements...there's no incentive for kids to keep playing. For learning games to be effective, kids have to *want* to play them. This is not to say that education has to give way to entertainment, but young kids do need a form of encouragement beyond just a "Good!" from the computer voice every so often.

    I love,love, love this app. I use it to reinforce my children's schoolwork. I pick the subject or concepts they are working on in class and let them play away. They are studying and don't even realize it. I had my daughter play (study) this before her English test and she aced her test. She has difficulty taking tests, but this really helped her.
    I also use 4th Grade Smart Kids in conjunction with this app. It is a little more thorough, but does not have the fun games to work for. Between these two apps and Monster Math flashcard app, our studying has gotten a lot more fun and effective.
