i got this for my daughter to help her with her basics for learning more or less so. well i gotta say since i give her depending on the day and how well she did at school that day and if she got her homework(shes in kindergarten btw if wondering about that anyways.) she flips between this, and a bunch of other apps i downloaded for her to play with if i needed to do something and i wanted her to stay put.
but i would give it a 5/5 mainly because the fact of that its cute, it has alot of game time behind it. if i were to spend the money for the real game (i used the play coins or what ever the coins used with the kindle version) i would do so again. its a fun game from what my daughter seems to think. and entertaining a 5 year old aint easy.

Just when it couldn't get any cuter (Dr.Panda games), we discovered the adorable garden app. Teaches small folks how to help customers that come to the little farm-shop! Beginning by mowing the lawn or weeding a chunk of ground, planting seeds, watering the plants either with cute, teeny storm clouds you tap or water w/a hose, making sure bugs don't bother the plants. When you get your fabulous crops, you can give them to your waiting customer.

We have all the Dr.Panda games. This one is just as adorable and fun for toddlers/preschoolers as all the others. Fantastic optimization (few hundred kilobytes instead of 35 megs or so.) Oh yes.

The Dr. Panda games are some of the best I've come across for kids, but this one can be frustrating at times. The little tools that are used to rake out the gardens can be difficult to pick up and use. My two year old will almost always ask me for help when it pops up, and if she doesn't ask for help, she's just frustrated and done playing.

*sigh* Terrible Two...

Aside from the mini game frustration however, it's another great Dr. Panda game! I'm not sure what it is about digital farming that is so much fun, but this game doesn't disappoint in that aspect. Starting vegetables from seed and progressing all the way through harvest really gives kids a sense of accomplishment.

Great game for boys or girls

I like a game for my two girls that doesn't focus on beauty, hair products or being overly cute. I think it's great that this game teaches a kid about how to grow plants and where food comes from, even though it's very simply portrayed. My 5 and 3 year old really like playing it, the game is very intuitive and it keeps them occupied for 20 minutes or more. So far, with about 50 games or apps downloaded for free, this is the ONLY one I have purchased and I'm completely happy with it.

Nice Application, but ...

It is a nice application for little kids, but with some fruits there are a problem, the display turns blank and you can only see the back or return key (Kindle Fire HD).

upside down!

It was working great for 10 minutes, then it flipped upside down and I can't get it fixed. If this problem gets corrected, I would gladly give this 5 stars. It is a cute game! We have a kindle fire hd 7.

Updated: no longer crashes on Nexus 7, and my kids love it!

Updated 1/2/2012: As of yesterday afternoon, this app now runs perfectly on our Nexus 7 (re: the issue mentioned below). I should mention, by the way, that the developers responded promptly and politely to our support questions and had an update ready to go shortly thereafter, which is fairly rare in the industry.

As to the app itself: my girls love all the Dr. Panda applications, and they're especially taken with this one. The animations remain absolutely adorable, and the mini-games are fluid and intuitive; the bug-catching and the "danger" of dropping fruit en route to the basket actually keeps my older daughter (who's 8) mildly entertained without presenting any real stress. My youngest absolutely ADORES the game, although she's starting to wonder what sort of doctor Dr. Panda is, given his/her wildly varied career.

Original review: While we've generally loved the Dr. Panda apps, this one immediately crashes back to the "desktop" from the title screen when running (briefly, natch) on a Nexus 7. I'll update this if any software updates correct the problem, but until then don't trust the Amazon compatibility sidebar.
