    I'd been wanting a daily devotional app for a while. There are LOTS to choose from & I was struggling with making a selection. I am a member of a PCUSA congregation, so I decided to see if PCUSA had its own app. I was delighted to find that they do! I like the selection of prayers & readings for each day - & I love that the app automatically opens to the current day by following the calendar.
    I have had one glitch wherein the app did not completely update days - so I had prayers for the correct day, but readings from a previous day - but that has only happened once. I do wish there were also a devotional essay or mini-sermon text or some sort of guiding interpretation of the daily readings, but overall I am really enjoying this easy-to-use & accessible app.

    If you do not know, this is an app that makes accessing the daily Lectionary readings: Old Testament, Psalms, New Testament and Gospel readings along with specific to the day prayers and collects. It is designed for daily prayer and connects us, wherever we are, to the larger Christian community. NOt designed for Presbyterians only, the daily Lectionary is used by many Christians of all denominations.I love being able to open the days prayers and readings on my phone and kindle. The app allows me to carry one less thing on the road or at work and provides easy access to all the daily prayers, morning, noon evening and night. However you cannot access the other canticles and must stick with Zechariah. I would like to have the other canticles accessible. Otherwise this is a real treat and at a low cost.

    I have been waiting for PC(USA) to release an app for several years. The church finally did and it's very useful. It offers a new prayer and reading material (Bible) to read though out the day. I already recommended the app to some of my friends at church (FAPC).

    The following is a quick and open message to PC(USA). Why is the app not free for iOS and other Android devices?

    I love this app, unfortunately, something going on with Amazon would not allow me to open it without it (or any other apps I obtained through Amazon) crashing due to an Internal Service Error for a while. It turns out this is fairly common, if you have the issue, de register your device (phone, tablet, etc...) and uninstall the Amazon app. Then reinstall and log in (this will automatically register your device again) and it should work.

    Although this costs a few bucks, it is in my opinion the best Protestant resource for praying the daily office. User friendly with easy updates to the day and time of day, I have gotten good use out of this fine app.

    Beautiful! Puts praise of God first. Scripturally based. Meaningful and thoughtful. A wonderful prayer. I gave it 4/5 bc it won't download on my iPhone. Of course that's where I need it as I don't carry my iPad around.

    And from my own denomination nonetheless!

    The Daily Office is a LONG standing spiritual discipline of setting aside certain hours of the day to pray and read Scripture. I've been searching the Kindle store for such a resource to help me pray the hours and here it is, just in time for Lent. Everything you need to add this discipline to your spiritual regimen is right at your fingertips, with those prayers, psalms, passages of Scripture, etc., that will not only deepen your relationship with God, but unite you with others who, using this app or print resources, are reading and praying the same all over the world.

    I highly recommend.
