Product description

Ages 2-5. This app is designed for very young children, even if they cannot read yet, to learn about our solar system!

You will be pleasantly surprised how much you child will learn and remember with this app. Children love the vivid images and the audio descriptions of the planets. They may even memorize a fact or two about our amazing solar system!

In a simple way, the app teaches children about each planet's location, size, orbit time, temperature, composition, and more.

Children love big numbers, and there are plenty in this app!

The Information Center contains informative data on each planet. The solar system is shown to scale for children to be able to visualize the planet distances from the sun, as well as, their relative sizes!

The Planet Sizes activity allows children to drag the planets across the screen to get a feel for their relative sizes and learn the order of the planets. Each planet will "snap" into place and it's name will be heard aloud when it is dragged to the correct position.

The Planet Orbits activity allows children to observe the relative speeds of orbit for each planet in proportion to Earth.

The Planet Card Matching activity contains the famous Three-Part Card System used in Montessori Classrooms. Children can drag the picture cards and labels to match them up to the control cards at the top.

We've packed a ton of information into an app that is designed specifically to teach young minds! Thank you for your support!

5.0 out of 5 stars Updated Review!
Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2019
When I initially purchased this app, I was forced to give a low rating due to a very small but noticeable error (mislabeled planets in the size-sorting activity). After contacting the developer, the issue was fixed. Five stars reflects 1) how glad I am this wasn't $3 wasted on an app we cant use, 2) how glad I am the issues were fixed so quickly, and 3) what a quality (and favorite) resource this has become now that the preschooler can use it!
There are several different activities to choose from. An information activity allows you to scroll through the different planets and listen to a bunch of facts about each one. The size sorting activity allows you to place each planet in order from the sun, like a puzzle, paying attention to the different sizes. It names the planet when you place each in their correct place. This and a video depicting the planets as they orbit the sun, are my sons favorite activities. Then there is the flash card activity. The activity allows the child to match pictures of the planets to one another, then match their corresponding names to each one. This one was a little frustrating in the beginning: the cards need to be placed below the provided examples, then the names of the planets below them. After a little practice, this activity has become very useful - the four year old now recognizes the planet names - outside of the game, even!
Again, great app for fun learning and so glad the developers were easy to contact regarding errors!
