Product description

Embark on a great learning adventure! Discover the fundamentals of geometry with your family! Watch your kids learn geometry in a matter of hours, without them even noticing they’re learning! (main learning features below)

By playing the 100+ puzzles in DragonBox Elements, kids (and adults, too) will gain a deep understanding of the logic of geometry. Through entertaining exploration and discovery, players use shapes and their properties to actually recreate the mathematical proofs that define geometry!

Whimsical characters and captivating puzzles motivate players to keep learning. Since the geometry in the game remains hidden, kids learn and gain confidence even if mathematics is a subject they don’t usually feel comfortable with. Amazing fun with amazing results!

DragonBox Elements takes its inspiration from “Elements”, one of the most influential works in the history of mathematics. Written by the Greek mathematician Euclid, "Elements" describes the foundations of geometry using a singular and coherent framework. Its 13 volumes have served as a reference textbook for over 23 centuries, and DragonBox Elements makes it possible for players to master its essential axioms and theorems after just a couple of hours playing!

Learning features:

* Learn as a family, through guidance and collaborative play, with up to 4 individual game saves

* 100+ levels, for several hours of intensive logical reasoning practice

* Aligned with the concepts studied in high school and middle school mathematics

* Explore the properties of geometric shapes through Euclidian proof: triangles (scalene, isosceles, equilateral, right), circles, quadrilaterals (trapezoid, parallelogram, rhombus, rectangle, square), right angles, line segments, parallel and transversal lines, vertical angles, corresponding angles, corresponding angles converse, and more

* Improve logical reasoning skills dramatically by creating mathematical proofs and solving geometrical puzzles

* Gain an instinctive understanding of the properties of shapes and angles through play

* Transfer what you have learned to pen and paper with the learning resources found on wewanttoknow.com

Recommended from age 8 (the guidance of an adult may be required for younger children)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Learning about Math Concepts, Proofs
Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2016
This is the best children's app I have ever seen. Not only does it teach mathematical concepts in a fun way, it teaches how to construct objects and form proofs in a fun way. If your kid loves gaining "new powers" and taking on "tough enemies and bosses", your kid will love this app. (The rest is for geometry buffs and nerds: it views construction postulates as powers; as you advance you concatenate these powers and get new powers. It doesn't touch the 5th postulate in Euclid, but who can blame it for leaving that one alone! Each object needs to be constructed from given objects in a way, but in a way they are already there: you add new colors to existing lines and angles. This makes one feel as if construction matters (QEF is not QED) but doesn't reduce the view to something like Brower's intuitionism, since the yet to be constructed objects are still "there" before you color them in.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Draws me in.
Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2014
I am really enjoying reviewing geometry. The characters and where they live are just cool.

You can do easy, medium, hard. There are hints while you are drawing the shapes, like make the triangle then turn it into a isoceles and in turn make that to the asked for equilateral triangle. And it does review what it taught pretty regularly. I am currently on exterior interior angles being equal and wish it explained a little more, but I just pulled out my class notes.

The only thing that bugs me is they call the guys Tringulum, Aequilaterus, Quadrilaterum, Parallelogrammum etc. To me they are Triangle, equilateral triangle, quadrilateral, parallelogram etc. After more exploring I discovered click the book, find the evolution page, click on the guy and under their name it gives the ones I'm used to.

Wish it worked with a stylus... finger burn.

7/24/14 I subtracted one star because I don't agree with some of their definitions: example-1 a rectangle is 0 equal sides, 4 right angles, 2 pairs of parallel sides, 4 equal angles. My text book has both pairs of opposite sides are equal and parallel, and has 4 right angles.
example-2 parallellogram is 0 equal sides, 0 right angles, 2 pairs of parallel sides, 0 equal angles. My text book has both pairs of opposite sides are equal and parallel, opposite angles are equal

2.0 out of 5 stars Confusing!

My 6yo loved both the DragonBox algebra games. I feel that this one went so far towards trying to make it intuitive and without words that even an adult who knows all the geometry rules couldn't figure out what to click on.

3.0 out of 5 stars its repetitive geometry for our beginner,
Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2018
okay I know, people loved these, but we bought it & my 8yr old & I played a few levels, and there are only so many triangle levels that you can do before you are totally annoyed and bored and wish it did something else.... normally I make him play it if I bought it, and so we both played it more to see if it got better.... Im pretty sure the algebra ones are better, based on reviews, but this geometry one would probably be better suited for someone much younger than 8, Its well made, like all dragon box games, it just may be way too young for both of us.

We didn't order this from Amazon, but directly from We Want To Know. We never received the download link, so turned it into Pay Pal. They never responded to us or Pay Pal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very fun geometry game!
Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2014
Very fun game for kids and a very sneaky way to learn geometry. I loved geometry in school but my soon was quickly surpassing me in this game. I'm not sure he could explain the principles to me, but he knows that he needs the triangle to have two equal angles to make two equal sides.

4.0 out of 5 stars disappointed - update
Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2014
After getting dragonbox5+ which was great for my daughter thought this would meet or exceed our expectations. But this one seems something like an unfinished product that's released without enough testing or clues for kids to complete our move to next level.
I didn't expect something like this from the makers of dragonbox.
Need to release an upgrade soon or return my money and you've lost a fan and regular customer. Need to come up with something like dragonbox out better.

----------------------------------------------------

Update 1 - received a notification from the makers of this app. Appreciate the response and went and updated the version. The updates do take into account customer feedback and try to resolve the issues. Commend the effort. Also the in play help and guide are useful so is the easy level. I played it prior to giving it to my daughter, and seems this version is much more intuitive for kids and provides better insight into the geometry concepts instead of trial and error.
Based on this update I'm changing my original rating. Will hold back on the 5 star rating yet would like to see more improvements but the new help guides and tutorials are really worth it. Good job guys you're back in my list of preferred app vendors and looking forward to more educational apps from your team!!!
