I also own iReal Pro - Music Book & Play Along, and this inexpensive app will use that app's files as well.

Apparently this version is a major improvement over earlier ones because you can transpose, and in fact, you can change the key of every chart from the default C to Bb, Eb or F. It also supports page turner pedals, and changing the tempo on the charts.

My favorite feature is to configure for white on black, which is easy to read in the dark, and especially for my pianist band leader who has visual impairments.

Overall, this app has surprisingly rich features (and an extensive set of chord charts) for a fraction of what I paid for iReal Pro. Of course, this is not in the same league with iReal Pro, but is a faster way to find charts on the spur of the moment. I personally use iReal Pro as a practice tool, and this app as a portable library. Since I was able to import all of the former app's set lists this has become a major convenience in addition to (versus in lieu of) that app. Bottom line: I am totally satisfied with my purchase and recommend it.

I am attempting to use this app on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 tablet. The charts do not display correctly. Instead of being an orderly array of 4 measures per line, it varies from two to four, and there are missing measures in almost every tune (see attached image). Also, if I try to zoom in or out on the image, it will often simply disappear and then I can't get it back. This is not very useful to me.

Update: I contacted the Skrivarna company, and they told me that there are a variety of 2 finger and 3 finger "pinching" gestures that are supposed to do various things. I experimented and discovered that a 3 finger pinch will restore the missing measures and arrange the chart in orderly 4 measure lines. That's a relief, but it would have been more convenient for that to be the default setting. I am raising my rating to 3 stars.

On the bright side, I tried importing a screenshot of a chart from the Real Book, and that works fine. You can't use the transposing feature on that, of course.

II hoped for something like "Real Jazz Book&"; or "Fake book". This one doesn't have lyrics or melodies! Only chords! No use to me as a jazz vocalist. But it was cheap, so I won't sue.

I have this app on my phone. Remarkable product although the forums are but confusing.
I need this on my kindle fire (For size) but I cannot seen to transfer the product. How is this done?
The value of this program to a working musician is invaluable. Being able to transpose at a touch is awesome. The play feature is great for practice and the controls are a breeze. Extremely pleased now tell me how to get it on my fire!

This app has earned it's purchase price and then some. I downloaded it to my Kindle and have used it on many gigs and jam sessions as well. I love the transpose function as I need to transpose on the fly for many of my pickup gigs. I have also printed from my pad to a printer at the clubs to pass out to the other players. There are a few songs that are not consistent with my other Fake Books but those books are not always consistent with each other either.

Kind of having trouble importing my own CSF & CHOPRO files, at least in way that I can figure out quickly and cleanly. As far as the stock fake book that comes with it: it is great!

Perhaps as I use it or possibly find a decent tutorial, I can upgrade by a star or two.

So, the song list is Great... but the format of the chord charts is Crap!!
Instead of the long established text forms such as Dbdim7... or Eaug13/G... this book uses scribbles and smudges which are usually too cryptic to be sure what is supposed to be played! Add to that the fact that Jazz Chords are Often unpredictable and unusual in their requirements and I find myself unable to know for sure if the chord I THINK is being written Is actually what I THINK it might be...
add to that the problem of the format of writing... (yes I know what repeat symbols are, and endings 1 and 2) but again it seems to be scribble marks and cryptic presentation for what is In Reality Only About four to six Lines of Text!!!
It just seems sloppy, lazy, and needlessly frustrating!
to get the music to what I want to play, and then struggle with something as stupid as the sloppy way the chord writes something as simple as "maj" as in Cmaj7 is just Infuriating!
Get it together Fakebook! Take the two seconds to simply make it CLEAR what you're saying... this is, after all, The ONLY thing you were meant to do - and you Fail Miserably!!
