5.0 out of 5 stars The Dr.Panda game we started with! :)
Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2013
Dr.Panda games are fantastic entertainment for toddlers/preschoolers and also a teaching tool for various aspects of life. Largely intuitive, a helicopter brings the patients that are allowed into the hospital by tapping on the elevator doors. This game has a lot of cute, fun surprises if the child taps about the rooms. (Beds change to suit their patients: girls, boys, babies; the fan can be switched on by tapping on it, the windows can open to allow the patients some fresh air; flowers in patients rooms can be watered; and there's a puzzle-like case of doctor tools to pack.) This game teaches kids what bein' a doctor is all about! They get to take temperatures, put salve on rashes, add ice packs to bumpies - to have a happy, healthy patient!

This really helped take the edge off "going to the doctor" in our house. Normalized a lot of aspects, giving the child an understanding that the doctor is really here to help.

5.0 out of 5 stars My granddaughter loves this!
Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2012
My four-year-old granddaughter loves this game! It is repetitious, but she is adorable when she is talking to my Kindle Fire and telling the "patients" everything will be fine! She also chides them for throwing trash on the floor, which she picks up. I have seen my 8-year-old granddaughter playing the game as well, she is a huge animal lover, but it doesn't hold her interest nearly as long as the 4-year-old. She will, however, load up her little sister's hospital with patients and then walk away! The little one just chats and taps - over and over until the hospital is clear. Very cute game, it does help with computer skills in that there are several "cures" that require manipulation of objects on the screen.

Why does this app have so many bad permissions? Don't get this app. It is bad. This app may be cute but it is a identity theif.
Plus this app was already in my cloud as the free version. This is the same as the free version with all of it's bad permissions.

My grandson was upset that I deleted it off of my HTC phone because he doesn't understand how this app steals private information when it's being played.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun game but small amount of content
Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2013
This is a fun game that my daughter plays again and again. I would say it really isn't educational in anyway. Also there are only about 6 or so different issues with the animals so I think after only 10 minutes of play it starts repeating again. The graphics are cute and with the amount my 5 year old plays it I definitely got my money worth. I would have rated it higher if it had more content.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Interactive game
Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2013
My granddaughters (3 and 5 years old) love this game! There's no score keeping. . .just lots of interactive fun taking care of patients. . . dogs, an elephant, a cat or two, a sheep. . .8 different animals. They come into the waiting room and then are taken to their hospital bed, which can be changed to a princess bed or a flowered bed or a race car. They pick up the trash in the rooms with quite interesting sound effects. They can play the radio to cheer up the patients. They can start the ceiling fan if they are hot. The animals have different ailments . . .dry eyes, chicken pox, stomach viruses, etc. They get their blood pressure checked, heart checked. . .they get eye drops, medicated cream, etc. Lots of fun! I highly recommend it for pre-schoolers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trust the doc

Cant beat a Dr Panda game. This one lets your preschooler (or any kid) drive an ambulance, rescue patients, and figrue out solutions. It teaches a lot of skills in a subtle way and the kids simply hate to put it down. For good long quiet time activities, Dr Panda is the best. Good design, operates without a hitch, colorful and nice sound track. Easy to figure out. NO in game purchases, a definite plus! Trust this brand, you wont be sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars 6 year old's review...
Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2014
I thought it would be a more fair review to get my daughter's opinion on this since she is at the top end of the recommended age category. She is six years old and in the first grade.

She instantly enjoyed the animations of the animals and the sound effects. She had to figure out what to do on her own, which is both good and bad, but it was not difficult for her to grasp the purpose of each screen or task. I thought she would be bored since she is very intelligent, but the various tasks kept her busy for awhile. Her opinion is that it is a fun, cute game that is good for her age and under. She does seem to understand that it would become boring pretty quickly if played for any extended period. She was ready to give the tablet back on her own in about a half hour.

Mom's review: the app ran fine in airplane mode and no in-app purchases are offered. During the startup of game there is a parents' info area. When I selected the parents tab, I was prompted to "tap the lock three times" which proved difficult; the lock wouldn't register being tapped or would disappear before the third tap, causing me to try five times before getting in. Inside parents area is a review us button, subscribe to newsletter, option to set "show promotion screen" on or off, and a like us on Facebook button. Access to Amazon store was unlocked for the review, and Facebook link goes directly to browser so the only lock between your child and other accidental purchases is the 3 tap lock, which wasn't that easy to bypass.

The game itself was extremely cute, gives a Ding when a patient arrives in lobby, click on doors to let patient into lobby. By swiping up or down the child can go from lobby to exam rooms. Each exam room has two beds and lobby can seat four waiting patients. All three rooms have occasional garbage to dispose of by dragging and dropping into the quaking or ribbeting bin. To put a patient into a bed, just tap the patient sitting in lobby and they go to an available bed. Tap on the smiley face near a bed to change the bed type. Tap the patient to begin therapy or exam which includes taking a temperature and treating the fever, give a shot and push plunger before putting bandage on injection site(which is given in the buttocks, but the art is appropriate and giggle inducing especially when you see the attempt to de-grossify an animals butt) , mend broken bones shown in an x-ray, put eye drops in pink eye, toothpick and brush dirty teeth, ointment on pocks or pimples, and a few others. None of them are really scientifically or medically accurate, but at this age the introduction of the procedures and treatments - and preventing fear of them - are far more important than being too accurate, in my humble opinion.

This does seem to be great for young kids but most two year olds will probably need some help as there is no tutorial whatsoever. After successfully treating a few patients, the child is rewarded with their choice of a sticker to drag onto their own sticker page. The stickers will stay and can be collected with more successful treatments. 5 to 6 year olds probably won't play for a long time in each sitting, but replay value is pretty high if you don't let the child get burnt out on it. This was offered as the FAOTD so I went ahead and got it for us, but I likely would not have spent a full $2.99 on it. I feel that it becomes very repetitive very quickly and so recommend a lower price point but it is a good app regardless of the slightly high price. I am removing one star for a total of four stars simply because it starts out so very cute and looks great with no crashes or lagging, and even though there isn't a tutorial it is easy to figure out what to do for each one, but the price is a bit high AND my six year old voluntarily quit after about thirty minutes so it won't keep them busy very long. (but I know she'll still play it again another day, probably as we sit in the doctors waiting room lol)
