This full version of Verse-A-Day now includes the ability to bookmark verses and commentaries so that you can read them again at a later date.

Preferred translations for bible verses include:
NET (New English Translation)
NIV (New International Version)
NKJV (New King James Version)
NLT (New Living Translation)
KJV (King James Version)

Verse-A-Day also provides a reminder feature to enhance your daily bible experience. This reminder feature can be configured to pop up daily reminders at a user-specified time each day to help you remain consistent in the daily reading of bible verses.

With Verse-A-Day a bible verse with supplemental commentary will be delivered to your mobile device with the hope of igniting hearts toward a rich relationship with God and sharing this truth in your social communities.

New version also includes readability enhancements like larger font for large screens (like Kindle Fire) and better contrast between background and text. Bookmark backup/syncing is also now available by touching the menu button while on the 'View Bookmarks' screen. You can use this feature to sync bookmarks across all your Android-based devices.

    This is an easy way to do daily Bible readiness and devotions. The verses are well chosen...and the option of reading the commentary is appreciated. The commentaries are brief...but thought provoking..and the Kindle app makes it so convenient.

    The description said I would be able to change the translation, look back on previous days etc. None of that is true. All I get is the verse and the commentary.

    Great simple app that I have to use everyday. The commentaries are great and the ability to change the translation is a necessary feature. I would have given it 5 stars if it had more translations. It does not have the ESV.

    This app has suddenly stopped working and hasnt worked for several days. New verses wont load. Keep getting an error message saying to try later or contact app support. Amazon was unable to offer any assistance.

    I like the commentaries. I enjoy taking the Bible in chunks and hoped to use this to help me memorize verses. But the verses chosen are not necessarily verses you want to have handy to mind. They aren't clear and easy to explain unless you have the commentary with you, too. The commentary gives a fresh look at some verses you might think you know well enough. I'm curious to see how many verses I'll read until I see some recycled for a second look, same commentary.

    I like this app because I can set it to remind me in the afternoon to check out the verse. I stop what I'm doing and refocus. It is a great suppliment to my morning devotions. You can set anytime of day. I'd like to share some of the verses and commentary with facebook, but if you do that, it shares all verses everyday. Other than that I love it!

    I have used this app for a couple of years now, and only had one problem. Sometime last year it stopped working altogether. I contacted the developer, and even thought they never responded, a couple of months after it quit working it started working again. Now, I purchased the new Kindle Fire Max 11. It works, but I no longer have the three lines at the bottom to open settings. I prefer reading the King James version, and I can't switch it to that version. The only thing I can do is read the version that it defaults to and can read the commentary. I will be contacting the developer again, although I suspect Amazon has not upgraded it to work with the new Fire. I was not able to get several of my previous apps because they are not compatible, yet.
