Connect two devices (smartphone, tablet, PC, ...) to a modern baby monitor through your local WiFi network.

How it works:
1.) Install the app and start it as baby device on your first phone or tablet
2.) Install the app on your second phone or tablet and connect it as parents device by entering the IP shown on the baby device

I see mostly bad reviews about this app, but I didn't have any real issues with it aside from the fact that its not as clear cut and simple as one would like.. It allows me to hear my little one at all times with my phone, and allows me to peak at him whenever I need, also the mic feature works really well when I know I can't get to him right away when he wakes up from a nap. 8 bucks(downloaded it on my cellphone as well) versus spending 40 or 50 bucks on a full use monitor. Yes please!!

I think this app is a great alternative to an expensive video baby monitor, but works exactly the same way. Now it does require two devices, either two kindles or you have to buy the app on a separate device, but that wasn't an issue with my tech crazy husband :) As long as you have two devices the rest is easy. It takes you through the steps to set one as the sender (the one that stays with the baby) and gives you an IP# for the receiver (the one that stays with you). Once you have the app installed on both devices it's a snap :) It is a drain on your battery but other than that it's a much better option in my opinion.
