This is a great beginners set! I decided to explore new creative endeavors for the year to see if I liked any and I got sucked into this right away!
The instructions were easy to understand, there was plenty of material to stitch with, and good quality materials, especially for a beginner. The key is to be okay with messing up and undoing some work at the beginning. Once you find a rhythm, you learn to make fewer mistakes, and to appreciate and accept the mistakes that you choose to keep.
I took some creative liberty with the colors but I can't believe how comforting embroidery is. I would stitch for hours accompanied by an audiobook and some snacks. I can't wait to start the second design!

Now once we get past all of that I have started the 1st one and it is looking good so far but I have not tried any difficult stitches so far. So do I think this is truly a beginner kit no but it is not a bad kit overall it does come with everything needed. I picked it up to keep myself busy and to learn new stitches. I am disappointed with the poor directions and the poor cloth quality. If you want to know the hoop that comes with is a plastic one that has the ridges inside so the fabric doesn’t move, which is a plus for this fabric.
