For an inexpensive embroidery multi-pack, this is quite decent, though the accessories are a predictably mixed bag. I’m not a beginner, so I got this for the specific designs and the convenience of having pre-assembled materials. From that perspective, this is one of the better sets I’ve gotten from Amazon.

What this kit gets right that many others don’t is that the needles are a good match, size-wise, for the fabric — and the fabric has a weave that’s suited specifically for embroidery. That means the designs are physically easy (and quick) to stitch, unlike with kits where the needles are too large for the fabric. You also get multiple needle sizes in a decent-quality reusable storage tube (not something I’ve seen in other kits so far), plus there are folding travel scissors rather than those inexpensive snips that always feel questionable to me.

On the flip side: The bamboo hoops feel super cheap — but they’re usable, and you do get two. The printed design on one of the kits was fuzzy/thick like it had been double-printed, but the lines are still easily followed and covered up by stitching. My needle threader came a bit bent and had some kind of glue on the wire loop that I had to remove, but again, it’s usable.

Overall, this kit isn’t perfect. Most inexpensive Amazon kits aren’t, though, and I’m happy that for once a kit contains fabric and needles that resemble something I’d buy myself. If you’re like me and you have your own tools (or don’t mind cheap ones), you know how to embroider already, and you like these patterns, this seems like a pretty safe buy.

The few instructions it does come with are not very helpful and are not very clear. Everything it comes with is great quality but I’d definitely recommend looking up the different stitches rather than trying to follow the directions given.

This kit is great for new and more experienced embroiderers. The patterns are great but the quality of the materials is the best thing about this. Would make a terrific holiday gift.
