It’s a small plastic tag that is so easy to pop into any fabric. It is small and won’t hold something with a lot of pressure on it but works for rolled sleeves you don’t want to fall etc. Only complaint is if the tag is on a delicate part of skin it’s scratchy.

I have not tried it on other materials but I don't think I would like a hard plastic tag no matter what the material was.
