    These stiff felt sheets measure 8 by 12 inches so you get quite a bit of material in one sheet. This bundle was the Christmas assorted color and the colors were bright and cheery. I like that with the stiff sheets you are able to cut the material easier and if you are applying sequins to your project, it is easy to handle as well as you are working with it.

    I would call these colors more grey oriented. I wouldn't say the white is actually white. It's more of a light grey. It's always good to have a variety of colors when making different felt items. It's definitely a stiff felt and more suited to craft felt, and not sewing. I like that the grey is more heathered grey than solid- that's a nice color palette to have.

    I generally don't use felt much but I had an idea in my head that I wanted to try and so getting this set was very nice for me as it has four light colors of felt so the pattern will show up when using darker paints and the black would show up with light paints. Today I set up my latest gel plate and equipment and tried out different things and then I 'felt' like I was at the point to use my felt. I had loaded the gel plate with paint in a very pretty pink, had some stencils on the paint and then I carefully laid the felt on and smoothed it out with my hands carefully. I let it sit and soak up the ink for a minute or two and then gently pulled the felt off. I was happy to see that I was right. The felt had come out with the different spots from the stencils. I then rearranged the stencils to make up for the spots that didn't have designs and went through the process all over again. Not everything printed this time, but I now had a sturdy piece of felt that had these different designs. A sewist or quilter could come along and layer the felt with backing or batting and free motion sew/quilt on the designs left my the stencils. It would make a nice wall hanging or mixed media quilting or art challenge. I like feeling like I invented a new process and this felt was perfect for it as the felt is a firm type and not floppy. I was so happy to try this out.
