This thread is the real deal! I could tell immediately this thread was a better quality just from the feel of it when I touched it. I normally use a 50wt cotton thread but I’ve always either purchased from a big box store or a cheaper cotton thread from an online store. The normal thread I buy usually fluffs up some and the cheaper online store brand I purchased caused a lot of lint build up in my sewing machine. I have heard good things about Aurifil so I thought I’d order some and give it a try. I sewed for about 6 hours and there was no fluff caught in my seams today. There was also let lint on the needle and press or foot at the end of the day. I didn’t look at my bobbin case, but I’m willing to bet there isn’t much lint to clean out right now. I am very please with this purchase and I think this thread is a high quality.
As for the color, Dove is a very pale gray color. It has a matte finish and is very strong. I used it on pink, red, black, and white fabric. It worked fine for my quilt blocks. I don’t worry about an exact match when I’m piecing.
