I use this type of sketch pads to pretty well write anything I think I should remember about. Recipes, reminders, and even sketches. Good all-around weight of paper, like the spiral binding and there are enough pages to write your masterpiece and have pictures as well.

For the price I really can't complain. They're a decent set of sketchpads that are good for kids or beginners who are just learning the basics. The paper is soft and scratchy though and the pages have a tendency to bend at the hinge because the coils aren't wide enough. So the pages are sometimes a bit hard to turn. I can live with that. You get what you pay for and this was better than what I expected.

The paper is nice and sturdy. You can only use one side since charcoal transfers to the other side but that is not a big deal since it comes in a nice number of the product. It’s perfect to track your progress as you learn to draw and is small enough to take with you if you want to draw outside. I like how it is perforated to allow you to remove pages you want to remove.
