Great Beginner Set

I've only been crocheting for a few months. I wanted a cheap set to start with and learn, and this has proved perfect so far! A great range of hooks for trying different projects, excellent selection of metal tapestry needles in a convenient carrying tube, and stitch markers for holding your place - they're a little flimsy but perfectly serviceable for new crafters. The hooks aren't super comfortable so take plenty of breaks, but they're sturdy and relatively smooth.

I have almost exclusively used Boye hooks for probably over 20 years except for a few occasions where I have tried different brands but I generally found issues with weirdly angles not he's or other issues that just didn't work for me. I decided to give this a try because it was a really good price and was cheaper to get the set than individually but the few hooks I specifically needed. These are wonderful. Now I don't know if this is a well-known brand I'd somehow managed to overlook or if this is one of those hidden gems, but they are amazing. Thus far I have used then on Homespun, Shawl in a Ball, Simply Soft, and Mandala yarns and there have been no issues whatsoever. Highly recommended.

I got this when I was first learning to crochet, and I wondered if I'd use the different sizes of crochet hooks, but I'm glad I got the whole set. Now whenever I find a pattern that needs a random size, I probably already have it! The needles are super useful and so are the stitch markers! This is a great set for crocheting.

I like how on all these hooks they have the sizes and when you’re crocheting you don’t realize how important the sizing is for the specific yarn you’re using. I had just started crocheting earlier this year and I only had one pic and that pic wasn’t really doing the job. I wanted to do different size, yarn, and different textures of yarn and I needed different pics for it and these pics were perfect. I also like how it came with the thread needles as well so I can do little detailing on smaller projects. The pin markers as well were a big help especially when it came to remembering where I left off.

This set is a good, inexpensive set of crochet hooks for a beginner or for someone who just needs that right size hook to finish off a knitting project. Not only do you get 14 hooks, from very tiny to very large, but also some stitch holders (always good to have on hand) and some blunt tip needles that great for seaming or burying in yarn ends for both crochet and knitting projects.
Crochet hooks have been made like this for a century or more so I'm not so sure they were made with ergonomics in mind. You would probably have to go for a much more expensive set with special handles if you're concerned about ergonomics.

I only gave them 4 stars because there is no storage bag to hold the hooks all in one place.

My granddaughters wanted me to teach them to crochet on a previous visit, but I had only brought one hook, for the project I brought along to work on in the airport. I ordered this set of hooks, with bonus items and I have to confess I saved half of the bonus items for my own use! I took the other half with me on my most recent visit, along with all the hooks and many colors of yarn. The girls were over the moon. I taught them to crochet and one even finished a project during my short visit. This set was so affordable and it was great to have so many sizes so all of them could work on different projects at the same time. This set should serve them for years. Even if only one of them continues on with this hobby, she will have every size of hook she'll need.

I bought these, along with a beginners guide to crocheting for my 15 year old sister. She had been interested in learning so i got her a set for Christmas. Well one day I go to see her and she has a very nice blanket started! She said she did it in one afternoon! She seems to love them and had no complaints! Id say they are beginner friendly if she easily used them! I cant speak on more experienced work though!

I bought These 3 months ago and they have worked great for my projects! they aren't flimsy at all, very sturdy actually, and using these my hands don't get cramped up unlike with other types of hooks I used. the stitch markers are a great add on and I use them quite often they aren't super flimsy but bendy enough to easily hook on and off of a project, the needles are great too and I haven't had any break so far???? overall for the money I think it's very worth it and I recommend this as an affordable buy for hooks.
