These grip better than the wood ones I’ve used. Tightening takes a little more work than I’m used to but it’s not difficult or impossible. These seem very durable and I like the variety of sizes.

The variety of sizes made it easy to work with. I am accustomed to the woodened hoops, but these plastic ones did the job well. I was able to get a snug fit around the fabric and even around the lace that had beads attached. An added benefit was it did not snag the lace because of the plastic construction. Worth the buy.

These work great for what I need. The plastic does not get slivers. These are durable and easy to tighten and untighten, plus these were less than the wood ones that were available. I love that it has multiple sizes for my varying projects. I don't have to use the largest one for tiny detail work. Pleased with this purchase.

Good price, but some sharp pieces

These are ok, a little flimsy but they will do for my light embroidery needs. On almost all of the hoops, there are some sharp pieces sticking up, pretty much on all areas, some are on the inside of the hoop, some are on the inner ridge, and on the area where the screws are(see photos). Also, it’s really rough where the two pieces of the hoop join together(see photos). This could be a problem if you are working with silk or some other lightweight fabric that may snag. I have some plastic and wooden hoops that I purchased individually, and they are very smooth.

I do like the variety of sizes included in this set. I don't think they are best for the serious embroiderer, only for light embroidery projects. I probably wouldn't purchase again, but I'll use them for small projects.

Better than wood hoops

These embroidery hoops far exceeded my expectations. I really only need the 3.5" hoop, but the low cost and positive customer reviews convinced me I should at least give these hoops a try. The screw used for tightening and loosening the hoop was easy to use and no issues with losing the nut it screws into. The flange around the inner loop and the channel on the out hoop securely held my embroidery fabric for the entire project without any need for adjustment and it held the tension the entire time I worked (my fabric sounded just like a drum head, never have I had this with a wood hoop). I couldn't be more satisfied, in fact, I immediately set up my next project because I was so excited to have a product that made my needle work easier. Looking forward to using these hoops for future projects.
