This was my first time crocheting, and I had a TON of fun with this kit. I was a bit overwhelmed at first just looking at the instruction manual that comes with it, but after watching the instruction videos, it was a breeze for the most part.
With that being said, I did struggle a LOT with the horns, as the video was a bit difficult to follow because it did get pretty fast-paced, and parts that would have alleviated some of the confusion were sped up. Additionally, as some of the other reviews have shared, I didn’t have enough yarn to even start the hair, so my yak is more like a bull.
Regardless of the minor hiccups, I had a ton of fun with this super adorable kit. This was a fantastic introduction to crochet, and I cannot wait to start my next project (I’ve already ordered like 4 more kits ????).

My tip is:
- don’t get too overwhelmed reading everything in the instructions at first and not knowing what they mean
- open up the QR codes to the instructions specifically for the model you have FIRST (“Learn Crochet Kits)— the Beginner Basics QR code is just showing you different kinds of stitches.. you don’t need it view any of it to complete the project because the instructions for your model already show you each stitch you need.
- play the videos as many times you need so you don’t make as many mistakes. The horns were the hardest for me to do but I was able to do it.
- have patience! You don’t know until you try. You may fail but that’s okay! You need failure to learn
As for quality, this is my first time crocheting anything so I can’t compare it to other stuff but.. it wasn’t too difficult putting everything together and the quality of the yarn seems fine to me.

My biggest issue for the yak kit is that they did not include enough yarn to finish the hair. I didn’t waste any yarn and ran out halfway through completing the hair as shown in pic. Supposed to make 5 strands, only got up 2.5. Someone else from the reviews had this issue too, echoing the same problem with this kit.
