Purchased Heat Transfer Vinyl Roll - 12"x30 Ft in White, Red, and Blue. The project? Make a softball team of 12 shirts for $10/ea. 6 large, 4 medium, 2 small. And do it in two days on top of work and regular life. Why? Because why the heck not?!

After researching lots of different ways to make the shirts and which material to best use. Among the criteria of easy to weed and layer friendly it had to be economical yet good enough quality to last at least 10 washes. Stumbled upon these beauts and gave it a go!

I'll come back to update once I've run the shirt through some washes and dries for the durability and quality. But as of right now... it's my favorite thing in my crafting space. ???? I've so many ideas and uses for it.

But for now I can tell you that weeding was a breeze. Likrle most vinyl products you do have to go in and sorta pick at the small bits of letters or crevices of shapes in order to be sure the big peel back goes smoothly. Almost always I hold my breathe in anticipation of not catching a letter that peeled up with everything or detail piece that it just isn't the same whole piece without it.

And I can honestly say that as I used this product more and more with every shirt, I had more and more faith in this product. I caught my shoulders relaxing and breathing through the weeding. In fact, I only cursed out twice in the project and it wasn't weeding related so I'm taking the win!

Aside from this project I've taken on more detailed projects. A LOT of quotes on shirts. Lots and lots of fonts and letters. I've gotten really good at telling what fonts work at what size and what cut. I was so happy that I could do the cut more setting and it wouldn't randomly start to weed your work before you've even noticed the mistake. It made weeding that much more pleasant. Do you sense that weeding stresses me out yet?

Any who, all this to say that for the price/amount of these rolls, you're silly not to at least try a for your next project! It's pretty smooth. The real deal.

Good value! This was my first time using something other than Cricut brand. The price is amazing. It goes on really nicely. It was easy to weed. I read previous reviews before purchasing. Definitely needs a longer press and was easier to pull backing off as it was cooling. Worth the price. I haven't washed the shirts yet, but I"m hopeful they will last a long time. Adhesion was excellent and I actually liked how it looks much more than Cricut vinyl!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice vinyl, a little hard to weed.

This is nice vinyl, and it seems to be very durable once it's on the shirts. The color is very vibrant and once we figured out the technique it's stuck to the shirts very well. It seemed to work best with a warm pull, not a hot pull. After 30 seconds of pressure I let it sit for about 15 seconds before I started pulling it off the shirt and that seemed to work the best. Now it is a little hard to weed, but I would trade that for more durable vinyl. Some of the shirts have already gone through a wash or two and they seem to be doing just fine. I would trade that for being harder to weed. Price per foot is excellent, and I will be returning to use this vinyl again. The red really popped and looked awesome against the black shirts we were making.

This is a review for the white Heat Transfer Vinyl. I'm basically new to HTV and heat pressing, very little experience, but this ended up working out great. I had a friend of a friend need something pressed on a baby onesies quickly and so I ordered this up since the Sportsflex isn't recommended on 100% cotton and that's what I had on hand. I ended up cutting this on my Silhouette Portrait 3, as it's so much quicker than the Cricut Maker for set up and cutting (for me anyways). I used the cutting settings they recommended for the Cameo 4 (since I think I'm using the same Auto Blade as that) and it worked perfectly. Blade 3, Force 8, Speed 5, Passes 2. It weeded great in the little inside areas, and was a bit of a pull for the larger outside areas around the design, but it weeded without any trouble. The clear backer is just very sticky! They also included a weeding tool, so I went ahead and used that, and it worked great! I think I like it best of all my weeding tools.

I ended up pressing my design twice on my HTVront Auto Press. The first time I was at 320-degrees for 20 seconds, with quilt batting under the vinyl to help lift it up to the seam level on the onesie neck and arm seams when pressing (so basically, I wanted to be sure I got even pressure; I also pre-pressed my garment for 10 seconds). After it cooled and I started to peel I didn't feel like it was great adhesion on the edges, so I pressed a second time at 330-degrees for another 15 seconds. I was able to peel it once it cooled but was worried as I was pulling it off, the backing is super sticky. It came off just fine but still felt like it was sitting on top of the fabric, so I pressed it again at 320-degrees for about 10-12 seconds, again with the batting under the vinyl area and with parchment paper over top. That worked, it looks beautiful! I like when vinyl is pressed into the fabric enough that if you look closely you can see the knit fibers where it's pressed in well. So I would say from my experience with this, do a second press after removing the clear backer to fully set it into the fibers.

I think next time I would press at 320-degrees for 30 seconds and do a second press once the backing is off for another 10-15 seconds. The vinyl is really soft and supple. It reminded me of the Cricut Sportflex I have used before (but a fraction of the price and okay to use on cotton). I was worried this would be thick and bulky, but it's not at all. I'm really happy with it and ready to make myself some sweatshirts with it!

So why the 4-stars? I had to press 3 times, so maybe this is harsh as every press can be different, but I'm using HTVront's machine, so I would expect it to be a little more accurate, especially since I'm inexperienced and need a little hand-holding these first few times. The backing is SO sticky that I really worried when pulling it off the garment. I guess if it's a proper press that should be a moot point as it wont affect the design, but I think it should be a little less sticky. I do have to say the instruction booklet they included is the best I've ever seen. Such great, detailed directions for cutting and pressing. That alone deserves a whole star. Overall, I would 100% buy this product again and if you're on the fence about buying it, I would definitely give it a try!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality for the price

This product was pretty easy to handle start to finish. Cricut settings: heat transfer (non-Cricut); pressure 118. Heat press 315 degrees for 18 sec. Applied to 50/50 tshirts. Weeding took some muscle because the backing adhesive is really tacky, but never had an area that wouldn't come off. After heat pressing, the backing was easiest to peel right away. The cooler it got, the harder it was to remove. Have not washed the shirt so can't comment on that.
