5.0 out of 5 stars A Luxurious and Versatile Yarn for Every Project

I recently used Alize Diva Silk Effect 100% Microfiber Acrylic Yarn in color 55 (White) for a series of knitting and crocheting projects, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the results. Here’s a detailed review of why this yarn has quickly become a staple in my craft supplies:
The 100% microfiber acrylic material is top-notch. The yarn is consistent throughout the skein, with no noticeable lumps or inconsistencies. This ensures a smooth, even finish on all my creations.
The yarn glides smoothly through needles and hooks. It’s not too slippery, which makes it easy to handle and control. There’s minimal splitting, which is always a plus when working on detailed patterns.
For the quality and performance, this yarn is priced very reasonably. It offers a luxurious feel without the high-end price tag, making it a great value for both novice and experienced crafters.

I am haflway from completing my blanket project and I love the quality of the yarn. The blanket feels soft and looks professional. I know the washing of the blanket will not be complicated because of the quality of the yarn. Because of what I am making will be used for many years, picking a yarn that will hold up and look news was important. Did not make a mistake with this yarn.

This yarn is wonderful! Love the stretch it gives, has just the right amount for comfort in those areas that need adjustable tension. Best part is the affordable price compared to others in the same class and quality. I crochet professionally and this is wonderful for my swimsuits. Would love to collab!

4.0 out of 5 stars Soft and silky but “ grows” when blocked

This was purchased for a gimmicky pair of socks that my granddaughter was “obsessed “ with. I didn’t want to spend a lot so I gave this yarn a try. It exceeded my expectations for acrylic yarn. Very soft and silky but I didn’t block my swatch and it really grew when blocked. I used US2 needles but would go smaller.

3.0 out of 5 stars The stuff nightmares are made of
Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2024
I would classify this as a sock weight yarn. Probably okay for crochet, but I was knitting with it and don’t recommend it for that, especially for inexperienced knitters.
PROS: beautiful sheen & drape
CONS:
1. Pretends to be center pull, but is NOT. If you see an end sticking out of the center, DO NOT PULL IT! It’s ia trap. Use from the outside or rewind. Once the center is pulled you’re basically doomed. What a mess. I had to throw large parts of 2 skeins away because it was just completely unrecoverable.
2. Extremely slippery. EXTREMELY. If you’re knitting, use lifelines frequently, even with the most basic stitches. This yarn has no grip on itself, so once a couple of loops slide off of your needles they just keep unraveling like a domino effect and are nearly impossible to pick back up.

I bought this because it was inexpensive, but working with it has been a nightmare. It would probably have been fine if I hadn’t pulled that center string.
I might consider purchasing again now that I know what to watch out for, but honestly, I’ll probably stick with bamboo or cotton-bamboo or even sock yarn in the future for similar projects.

Yarn is soft and silky. This is color smoky and it matches the product image well, a purplish grey. This is fingerling yarn so very thin, similar to embroidery floss. Doesn't split.
