Besides it being cordless and easy to use anywhere, I love that this only takes 15 seconds to heat up. It allows you to turn it off between uses if you're not using it constantly without having to waste a minute or two for it to heat up when you turn it back on.

I will say, however, that it drips... a lot. I 3D-printed a stand for it (publicly available) with a drip tray. I would love if it pulled back on the glue stick slightly as you release the trigger but at this price point I can live with it.

 As soon as you put it on the base it starts to charge. You have to remember when you are ready for it to heat up to press the power button! That took a minute for me to get used to. The only drawback and I really do mean the only one, I would love for it to have a longer USB cord. But that's all right. I'm sure it would work with any c type cord and I've got plenty around here. I just wanted to use what it came with and write the review. All in all it is fabulous so far. I don't know how long it would stay warm without putting it back on the base but the paperwork says 20 minutes or more. That's impressive! I'm a professional crafter and this is lightweight and very easy to use and once you get used to how much glue to push out, you're not going to be dripping all over the place with the gun just sitting there like some units. You can press out a small line or a big bead. It stays really warm and there's a protective collar near the tip for less burns. The sticks are easy to load but tight. Sometimes if the sticks are too loose then they don't feed right or glue comes out the back. I haven't noticed any issues so far and I've used it three times. I'm looking forward to pushing its limits. If it really stays warm for 20 minutes, I can walk outside with it. Another cordless gun that I had, I had to literally take the plug out of the handle and it was only as warm as far as I could walk. It did not have an onboard rechargeable battery that kept the unit warm. All that one did was let me walk away from the outlet which I would have gotten the same results if I would have just jerked the cord out of the wall and took it with me. LOL this one is truly cordless meaning that it is going to stay warm in your hand until the battery inside dies. For the price, it's amazing. It takes mini sticks. I've never really used the huge glue sticks but there's probably some commercial grade comparable item that melts the large ones. This is perfect for the home professional Crafter!! Enjoy

For me, this is the perfect glue gun. All of the ones I've had in the past came with awkward, thin metal stands that were a waste of time. With this one, the glue gun is so easy to pick up and then set back down in the base. The base is heavy enough that it stays put when you lift the glue gun, and it doesn't knock over easily. The fact that it's cordless is the icing on the cake. It heats up amazingly quick and just makes any project so much easier since I'm not battling with the glue gun constantly.

Fast heatup and long lasting battery, but it leaks glue from the tip when it's on. Leaks more than any other glue gun I've ever owned so there is some waste of glue during projects where you may need to have it on for awhile. I like that it's lightweight and can go anywhere.

I would like to say I love this item, but we have a love/hate relationship. So I'm going to start with the things I hate about it.

1) it doesn't have the prop brace to quickly set down and needs to be placed in the base between gluing. I know it is only a couple seconds more but it annoys me.
2) and this is the real HATE part. when it is on the glue continuously melts and drips! So Iu have to make sure it is placed over something that won't be ruined and that the base doesn't twist around (see # 1) and it then drips on my countertop. Also, I see all that wasted glue from a short little project. This is the issue that will have me grabbing a different glue gun 95% of the time.

Now on to what I love about it:
1) it is lightweight. I see the heavy duty ones by companies like ryobi and I think my wrists get sore just looking at that thing.
2) so convenient! I had it at my camp over the summer for little projects outside. It was also great for a project inside where I was going window to window to glue things.
3) very quick heat up times. For those who are impatient and don't like to wait on melting glue, this is AWESOME! I'm thinking 10 seconds and I am ready to go.

Overall I would say this is a great alternative for powerless situations, (maybe as a back up at a vendor show for quick fixes/attachments) but not one for everyday use.

I have many glue guns. This is the first rechargeable battery glue gun that I have purchased. I bought this one because of the customer ratings and the time it takes for it to heat up (supposedly). This has never taken 15 seconds to heat for me. It takes more like 2 minutes, but then it is hot. It does still drip but not as much as other glue guns. Having a silicone collar on the gun helps a great deal to keep the glue from sticking and turning brown. It's comfortable in your hand, but the base of the charger could be a bit wider becuase it isn't very stable to stand with the gun in it. Now that I have had this for over a year, I decided to update my rating. I lowerd my rating becuase the glue gun won't hold a charge and it won't pull in the glue sticks. The trigger moves, but unless I push in the glue sticks manually, it won't pull them in. Also, it won't stay on. I charge it regularaly and it won't keep the charge. It will just blink and won't stay on. Because I can't count on this to work for me, I gave it 2 stars. It should probably only have one becuase it worked fine for about a month, then it stopped working. Don't purchase this glue gun.
