The Unquiet Bones was a fantastic book. Loreth Anne White writes a plot with many emotions attached to decades old cold cases along with recent heartache. Jane is a pregnant detective who, due to the trauma of her missing other half who doesn't even know he's going to be a father, has been sent to cold cases. The first case she gets is skeletal remains found under a chapel on the mountain. From there, the plot surrounds the "Shoreview Six," another missing person, a retired police chief, a family of the missing girl, Annalise, from the late 70s, and a reporter. This plot was deep with plenty of secrets. Excellent writing and character development. This was a hard to put down kind of book. Loved it.

Likable characters - and dislikable characters. Tightly written plot. Well edited, though it dragged a bit before the climax. Kept me guessing (which is difficult to do). Well written. Recommend as a good read.

I just love all Loreth Anne White books! Never a dull story, and so well written. This is one of my favorites next to The Maid's Diary.

I enjoyed this book at lot. I have read others from the author and think this is the best I have read so far.
The storyline was compelling and complex, which I really like. The characters were well drawn out. But for me the thing I liked best was the pacing. Nothing felt rushed or too slow. I would highly recommend! I hope the author writes more with these characters.

Book started slow for me. Having experienced much death in my life I can understand some of the feelings portrayed. Hope you will give it a try. Lots of twists & turns keep it interesting

Homicide detective Sergeant Jane Munro was brought in to investigate the bones found on Hemlock Mountain. Jane is a veteran detective that’s been undergoing therapy since her fiancé disappeared six months ago on a hiking trip. Sergeant Jane Munro is pregnant and her fiancé didn’t know.

Angela Sheldrick is a crime reporter for CBCN-TV. She’s looking for a breakthrough story to catapult her streaming career. Instead of working with Jane to provide recent current information she uses unorthodox methods to retrieve her information making her Jane’s nemesis. Jane needs to stay a constant step ahead of her. Sheldrick is known for sensationalizing news for clickbait shock value.

The bones found lead detectives to investigate six people who held onto a secret dating back to 1976. These six individuals have so much to lose. Even without there truths the bones will tell detectives what they aren’t willing to tell.

One thing any reader can count on when reading a Loreth Anne White book is her attention to detail. She provides readers with an informative read. This is a character driven in which readers must pay close attention to all the information provided since there are six possible suspects. I admit I’m horrible at keeping track of this many characters so I just go with it and let Loreth Anne White tell her story. This became more of a who-dun-it once the six characters were introduced. I was extremely fascinated by how the medical examiner was able to pinpoint the time period and other insetting aspects of the cause of death from reading the bones.

The best way to experience any thriller is through an audiobook. Carly Robins was the solo female narrator who performed the role of Jane. I’m an eyes and ears person who benefits from having my eyes on an ebook and my ears attuned to the voice of a good talent. I’m pleased to say Carly brought this story to life with her exceptional voice acting skills.

This isn't my normal kind of book so I was surprised to find myself drawn. It was the title that made it impossible to scroll past. And then I started reading and couldn't stop. There were so many suspects that it made it impossible to guess who did it. And this author completely fooled me. Kudos to her for writing such a good story.
