I highly recommend this book! I haven't read other attachment theory books, but this one is really resonating with me (I'm halfway through). It is such a practical and compassionate framework. Baum does a great job of explaining where our relationship patterns come from and the need to focus on healing our core wounds to stop repeating the sabotaging, painful survival behaviors we've developed from childhood. She offers a roadmap on how to take steps towards healing from a compassionate, comprehensive, and clear-eyed perspective. This is really reassuring and motivating - we can see how much agency we actually have to shift our experience of life.
If you experience not feeling safe in your relationships (and your own self), and want help in owning the work that is yours to do, pick up this book !
Also, I initially started listening to this as an audiobook (read by the author), which I definitely recommend as well. Her voice is calm and she reads it in a helpful, deliberately well-paced way. I bought the physical book in order to review and reflect on her insights and exercises.

This book has changed my life

I started listening to the audiobook on Spotify, the author does the audio herself and it’s in such a soothing calm voice. Halfway through the book I knew I had to buy a hard copy. This book will be on my shelves forever. Already I feel validated, understood, and so many answers to my questions on why I keep picking the “wrong” person finally answered. This book has helped me get out of blaming myself, learning why I am the way I am, and why my exes are they way they are. I wish everyone would read this book. It gives you the tools to learn to be “selful”

Very helpful book. I didn’t like all the meditations. Maybe I’m too impatient. But I sat down to read, not meditate. The book did, however, give me more insight into myself and those around me.

Anxiously attached is a mind blowing perspective shift, inspiring you to break cycles of anxiety around relationships, and refocus your energy onto yourself. You learn to make the conscious transition from becoming selfless to self – full!
The author provides tons of context on attachment theory and a safe space to easily access and digest this information. She gives a literal blueprint on how to heal childhood wounds.
The “little me” concept in the book is really where it clicked for me.
As a single father I found it particularly helpful, and I am now so much more conscious of my interactions with my child, because it really all starts there.
I listened to the audiobook first, but then immediately ordered a physical copy to take notes in and keep for my own reference.
I would highly recommend this book!
Whether you’re in or out of a relationship, a parent, someone with anxiety, someone struggling with self-worth, or someone interested in learning about the science of relationships.. There is something in here for you. Don’t be anxious about it. Get the book!

Jessica Baum has delivered above and beyond a self-help book. This book, along with the ongoing guidance and support of meditations you can access online, blog posts, consistent, and compassionate communication via emails, is the map she helps the reader draw to themself. This is less about advice, more about connecting to yourself in a safe secure environment that she guides you to. I have been able to see & feel massive shifts deeply. This process works regardless of attachment style, it's less about labeling and fixing, more about compassionate tools that she brings you to be able to access yourself. I have seen the benefits & calm in a matter of weeks in all relationships. Anyone would benefit from this book and Jessica Baum's presence on their journey.

She makes it very easy to comprehend and work through. The healing has already began in a very significant way for me, even my girlfriend has noticed the changes in me.
