About this item

Ravensong is the second book in the Green Creek Series, the beloved fantasy romance sensation by New York Times bestselling author TJ Klune, about love, loyalty, betrayal, and family.

Complex and startling... Green Creek is the perfect setting.” —Charlaine Harris

The Bennett family has a secret: They're not just a family, they're a pack. Ravensong is Gordo Livingstone's story.

Gordo Livingstone never forgot the lessons carved into his skin. Hardened by the betrayal of a pack who left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves. It should have been enough. And it was, until the wolves came back, and with them, Mark Bennett. In the end, they faced the beast together as a pack... and won.

Now, a year later, Gordo has found himself once again the witch of the Bennett pack. Green Creek has settled after the death of Richard Collins, and Gordo constantly struggles to ignore Mark and the song that howls between them. But time is running out. Something is coming. And this time, it’s crawling from within. Some bonds, no matter how strong, were made to be broken.

The Green Creek Series is for adult listeners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Incredible

This was amazing!! I loved Gordo sooo much in the first book and I was so happy to see the second installment was his and Mark's story. The first part of the book fills in all the missing gaps: Gordo's childhood, what happened between him and Mark, the history between Gordo, Rico, Tanner, and Chris, and what happened to him, Carter, Kelly, and Joe when they were separated from the pack for those 3 years. It sounds like a lot and it is but the author writes so wonderfully, it feels like High Res flash backs for the reader, and you've been dying for this information from this first book so you just soak it all up like a sponge. But then we get to present day...the action is still pushing forward at full throttle!
Gordo is my absolute favorite character trope: grumpy/mean but with a heart of gold. We find out his background and his character makes total sense what with what happened to him when he was so young. There are so many times you want to shake Gordo and tell him to stop being so stubborn but it works so well. And Mark...what a perfect match for Gordo. I loved hearing about how they met and how their relationship grew before everything was ripped away from them. The ending is perfect; we get Gordo and Mark's HEA but still are left on a cliff hanger! The plot is sooooo good!
This pack has my heart and soul, I love them so so so much!! I cannot wait for books 3 and 4, I'm trying not burn through this series in only a week but I can't help myself. I can't think of anything else except for the Bennett Pack! This series is amazing, you've gotta pick it up!

5.0 out of 5 stars What an incredible ride!

This is one of the most complex stories I’ve ever read. I’m in total awe of how the author was able to weave together so much without a gap in sight.

I’m really appreciative of how the first part goes back and fills in events from Book 1; Gordo’s youth and those 3 years of separation. Then hold onto your seat, because it’s full-speed ahead!

There are moments in this book so intense that I needed to take a break and read something lighter for a bit. Tragedy, angst, and one of the most bad ass villains I’ve ever read are all here. That’s not a complaint but more a reflection of me and a huge compliment to the author’s incredible talent. There are also moments of laugh-out-loud laughter, deep love of pack, and of course, the love between Gordo and Mark.

And that cliffhanger! It’s worthy of an old Dallas or Dynasty episode!

I am so invested in this story. I’ll be starting Book 3 immediately after submitting this review.

4.0 out of 5 stars loved the angst!

i loved how the voice in this one, from gordo's perspective, is way darker and angstier. i'm just a person in need of some angst, and this sure as hell provided it. i am so in love with this series and its characters that i am physically incapable of rating this any lower than four stars. it's just got a place in my heart. that said, i did have some tiiiny issues with it, namely:
1. the spanish. yes, rico speaks spanish and, ignoring the fact that he just says random shit in spanish in the middle of conversations with ppl who don't speak it, something that no bilingual in their right mind would ever do, some of what he said was grammatically wrong, inaccurate, or just plain didn't make any sense. (he said the word "aye" like twice. what the hell does that even mean? is that slang that i've just never heard? bc to me that is scottish, not spanish lmao)
2. the similarities among his books. not only are there some tropes/dynamics that are quite similar to wolfsong, but there are many that belonged to his previous series "tales of verania" as well. the whole "i underestimated you once, i won't do it again" shit is apparently something the author loves! and trust me, i do as well, but if you're going to use the same trope, at least change the way in which you use it...?
3. this is something very personal and subjective, but his writing style is just too much at times. it's very, very particular, and that's something i do appreciate, but sometimes it gets on my nerves.
still, if despite all these flaws i just mentioned i couldn't bring myself to lower the rating, it's because i just love this series so much that i can't possibly give this a bad review. it's just impossible. also, this is i think the ONLY book i've ever read in my LIFE that says the word "aro" to explain a character's sexuality, which, yes!!!! thank you!!! and the third book is going to have an asexual main character!!!!!!!! aahhhhh!!!!!
