Has a twist at the end. I didn't expect that. Left me wondering and that's okay. I liked Anita and I think she could have been more developed.
This is the first time I've read this author. I'll be checking for more of her novels.

Tom was the worst anti-hero I’ve read in a long time. This book was intriguing and read like a really good series on prime time television. A good one. Nice writing Ms Rogers!

4.0 out of 5 stars Original Plot

Great storyline and plenty of deception. Main characters well defined. A bit more of the heroine and her stolen moments with her few supportive friends, and more interaction with them, might have ratcheted up the suspense... a few more small glimpses into the secrets that were pushing the plot to a crescendo might have tightened the emotional tension between the characters and reader, thus creating that " can't put it down" effect we all love.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Good Wife - Gemma Roger’s

I had a hard time rating this. In the first third of the book I was thinking 2 stars. The second third of the book was 3 stars. The final third was approaching 4 stars but never quite made it. There’s heavy abuse, so be warned. A little unbelievable that a smart woman would stick around with the way she was treated and SO many opportunities to escape. The book is kind of degrading to women.

This book really did grab me with the first page! The story was intriguing from page one. The characters in the story were flawed for different reasons, which I found interesting. The book is told from 3 different perspectives, Chloe the long suffering, abused wife, Savannah the escort that was working towards a better life, and Tom, the husband of Chloe and paramour of Savannah. There was an instant dislike for Tom who was cruel to say the least. I found myself liking both Chloe and Savannah, even though they were both so different from each other. Twists ran throughout the book and the ending was perfect. I will definitely be reading more books by this author.
