About this item

It was supposed to be a one-night stand... fate had other plans.

Newly appointed judge Jordan Blake is done with romance. But on a rare night out, she becomes captivated by Sierra, a woman half her age. Unable to resist her charms, the usually cautious Jordan gives in to a reckless night of passion.

Law student Sierra Fuentes doesn't expect to see Jordan again. Pleasantly surprised when she ends up her intern, Sierra sees an opportunity to continue their steamy affair. If only Jordan would stop caring about the rules.

With Sierra in her chambers, Jordan vows to keep their relationship strictly professional... even if she can't stop thinking about that night. Forced together, the women struggle to keep their desires and burgeoning feelings under control.

With her heart and career on the line, will Jordan risk it all for a chance at love, or will her fears keep her from leaping head-first into her happily ever after?

Find out whether love and lust are worth the consequences in this addictively steamy, age-gap, workplace romance.

Wow!!! I just finished the book last night I want to read it again. OMG what a ride. The chemistry between the two characters are off the charts. You feel your heartbreaking....no no no HEA...no worries she wraps it up cuz I was about to pull my hair out literally. I actually became overcome with emotion because you feel for Sierra and ya I got really teary eyed and you'll find out why ???????????? I'm a paralegal And i loved the book. I haven't checked but I'm definitely going to be looking up this author to see if I can find any more of the law genre I can read. This would make a great movie....gotta be Jenn Anniston and Megan Fox. Megan is the perfect Sierra. This is one of the best books I've ever written. It has everything in it romance, lust, angst, cat and mouse a really really good feeling. A definite read!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Steamy workplace age-gap romance

I feel the need to break into Nelly’s… “It’s getting hot in here….” but that might prove to be embarrassing for all of us. What I will say is that this book was ridonkulously hot!

Jordan is a newly appointed judge and has a ????one night stand with Sierra, who as it turns out ends up being her intern. This is where the big “uh-oh” happens as the two are clearly attracted to each other but that maybe the line Jordan is not willing to cross….again.

This story is basically a cat and mouse game. There’s a whole predatory-pinning-flirty vibe happening with both MCs and although Sierra’s player vibe was a little too much at first, her character eventually grew on me.
Jordan was super easy to like, trying to balance attraction to Sierra with her responsibility as a judge and boss, all of her emotions felt quite relatable. There’s a ton of push-pull angst with age gap complexity and complexes thrown in. Oh and let’s not forget…oodles of hot-pinning (yep if you read this you’ll know what I mean).

Overall another very enjoyable read from JJ Arias that had scorching one-night stand heat with some age gap angst before ending with a very sweet HEA.

Age gap romance done really well in how the older MC struggles through her armored sense of self and career/position restrictions being dismantled by her feelings for the younger woman, who sees more grey than black and white in the ethical rules in their field. Both characters rise in unexpected ways and find courage. Sexy moments, of course, because JJ Arias never fails.

I really liked this book. I enjoyed the angst and sexual tension between the two main characters. Had steamy scenes that raised my blood pressure. My only complaint is that the end felt rushed and thrown together. It kind of took the lesbian u-haul joke and ran with it. Felt predictable. Aside from that, wonderful author. Highly recommend her books.

What happens when newly appointed judge Jordan Blake breaks down and has a one night stand with a woman twenty years younger? When Sierra shows up in her chambers as her intern, hoping to continue her cat and mouse game, Jordan struggles, but fights valiantly to stay professional and follow the rules. No matter how hard she fights, the love and chemistry they share just shines through. I thoroughly enjoyed this story!

5.0 out of 5 stars Epilogues to love

A judge and a law student with a side of age-gap happiness. This book had me from the synopsis alone. I haven't read an Arias book that wasn't steamy wonderfulness, but this one is just adorable with the double epilogue.

The will they, won't they is palpable. I've never read characters or met humans with this much control- it's spellbinding. I enjoyed how they both had growing to do and it was a gentle nod to therapy for assisting a strong woman on her journey. The legalese and courtroom appearances were as informative as they were entertaining. The dialogue is effortless and the ending is worth the 80% tumult. Can't wait to read more books by this author.
