About this item

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden comes an electrifying medical thriller, Dead Med, originally published as Suicide Med.

"All I can think about is how pathetic it would be to die in the anatomy lab. The last thing I want is to become one of the dead bodies."

When Heather McKinley dreamed of becoming a doctor, she imagined curing sick kids and sporting pink stethoscopes. She never anticipated the sleepless nights, grueling exams, and endless labs. And she certainly never knew that her medical school earned the nickname Dead Med thanks to the tragic history of students overdosing on illegal drugs.

But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and her world starts to crumble.

Everyone has a breaking point.

Then, on the night before the final exam in anatomy, a shot rings out through the hallways of Dead Med.

The school has claimed yet another casualty. One of Heather's classmates has done the unthinkable, and before her desperate 911 call even connects, it will happen again.

And the night is just beginning.

Please note that Dead Med was originally published as Suicide Med. Dead Med is a revision with 20% new material.

What an interesting, well written novel with a lot of plot twists that I definitely didn’t see coming! The ending was great. I highly recommend this book!

Fast-paced. Was pretty good but then fell short at the end. I guess I was just expecting more twists. Still a good read just not the best.

This is a solid 3.5 ⭐️ - I rounded up to 4. I enjoyed this book, but I don’t feel like the normal shocking Frieda twist was there. Although it was enjoyable. It definitely felt like a tad bit of a groundhogs day, and a lot happened but nothing at the same time. Every Frieda reader will read this book as they should. Just not one of my favorites by her.

This was an easy read and although I try to figure out McFadden’s formula - I was maybe a quarter right. I love the different perspectives and the story was great!

Freida McFadden has done it again. She never fails me.
When I first selected this book, it was only chosen because of Freida's name. She is one of my favorite authors and she remains so.
So, I began reading and in just minutes, I was totally into this story. So much so, that I couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end.
I especially liked the fact that, as the reader, you get each character's point of view and can understand that person,as shown in the different set of chapters.
An excellent read.
Thank You Freida McFadden.

Heather Mc Kinley has a dream of becoming a doctor. She didn't realize how much stress she would be under or how hard it would be. The school she is going to has been nicknamed Dead Med because of the students who have died there. Every student is out for themselves but how far will they go to be the top of the class?

I liked the multiple points of view from the students and how everything connects in the end. The stress, the sleepless nights and the pressure is pushing all of the students and some can't handle the pressure. Heather never thought she would end up in this situation.

The students joke that one of the professors must be behind the drugs on campus. Before the final exams another tragedy will happen on campus.

I just love this author. I didn't read the original of this book so I'm not sure how it changed. I just know if Freida wrote it I want to read it.
