About this item

Devlin “Dev” Espinosa lives in the shadows of the criminal underworld. As a Ferryman, his job is to safely transport “the dead” to their new lives, no questions asked. With no one to answer to, lots of cash, and access to The Anonymous–an exclusive club for the elite–Dev is loving life.

Until Remy Corbin gets into his car.

Remy is just a regular guy working a regular bartending job. At least, that’s what he thought before walking in on his boss taking someone out. Witnessing the assassination paints a target on Remy’s back, and when the bullets fly, he jumps into a stranger’s car.

Dev has no intention of getting involved in Remy’s problems, but something about the guy brings out protective instincts Dev didn’t know he had. Going against his better judgment, Dev vows to keep Remy alive.

Can wild nights fueled by danger and explosive passion lead to more? Or will the hitman on their tail cut their romance–and lives–short?

Love for the Reaper is a part of the multi-author series The Elite. Each book can be listened to as a standalone and in any order. What links these books together is The Anonymous, a club beneath the gritty city where only the elite are welcome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read

I enjoyed this fast paced story. Set in Old Defiance where mobsters rule, Dev and Remy fight for their lives and love. While this was a quick read it had lots of action. The side characters were interesting and I hope they get their own story. I look forward to reading more books in this shared world.

Remy is a really sweet, somewhat oblivious bartender for a very dangerous and secret club.
Dev is their Ferryman, transporting the "dead" as it were and he's very good at his job.
Remy happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and sees something he shouldn't have.
He jumps in Dev's car to try to get away.
Initially Dev wants no part of Remy's problem, he's got enough on his own plate to deal with.
The attraction between them was instantaneous and scorching hot.
As Dev gets to know Remy, feelings of protectiveness surge and he'll be damned if he lets anything or anyone hurt the sweet man.
Plenty of fast paced action, danger and drama kept me racing towards the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Way Different From the Ferryman In Greek Mythology!

Devlin “Dev” Espinosa is the Ferryman and has been his life until Remy Corbin jumps into his car and someone starts shooting at “Dev’s” baby at that point he has a major attitude that someone is “Shooting At His Car!” But then he stops intending to put “Remy” out of his car. But then he gets a call and finds out that the man he was to ferry for wants Remy and not in a good way.

Dev makes a split decision that is going to cost him, not just his fare but possibly his life. And for some unknown reason he thinks Remy is worth it. But the man who is sent after them doesn’t care about anything but taking care of business. And his business is Remy. But after Dev comes back, not the way he left, all to protect him, Remy knows what he has to do.

The Ferryman might just have his fare if Dev doesn’t get to Remy in time. But then again, this Ferryman is not the undead because if he was, he wouldn’t have a heart. Good thing for the both of them there is a lot more going on than either of them can imagine.

Woul not have purchased if I had noticed it was by multiple authors! Disappointed! Plus strange drop of Gabriel and Sergio! Good short story but would have been better by being written by one author! This was my mistake! Author was amazing!

How many doors does a 1969 Camaro have?

Spoiler alert: It’s not more than two.

And we can do better than that.

Aside from that whole thing, which is a bigger detail than you’d think considering how important the car is, there were other inconsistencies, but the rest of the editing seemed okay enough.

The story was great, and I loved the characters, but I needed some more meat on the bones. It was really plot heavy, but it was still done well.

3.75/5, you can’t just add doors to a friggin’ 1969 Camaro. That’s disrespectful. Stars based off those inconsistencies and pesky minor (MAJOR) details.

I was hooked on the plot and the characters as soon as I started reading. The action was intense and kept me on the edge of my seat. I was smiling at the end. Now I need Sergio’s Story and to know he made it out ok.

I would HIGHLY recommend this book to a friend

Yay for combining assassins with Greek mythology. Dev and Remy may not have known each other for long but they definitely make an indelible impression.

“I’m a Ferryman.”
Remy shook his head. “I don’t know what that is.”
“A Ferryman. Like in Greek mythology. The guy who transports the dead.”
Oh...
Well, that couldn’t be good.

Precisely and exactly why I love this series. You never know who you’re gonna meet in Old Defiance or in The Anonymous but you know they’ll be memorable. Love the suspense, the romance and the fun.
