About this item

How Full Do You Feel?

In our fast-paced culture plagued with burnout, stress, and chronic fatigue, we often find that we’re functioning out of emptiness. What would it be like to experience a fullness in our life that was truly lasting and regenerative?

In Soul Care, licensed counselor Debra Fileta shows you how Jesus’ own life rhythms can guide you to true health and rest, teaching you how to live full rather than empty. Rooted in Scripture and expertly informed by clinical psychology, Soul Care identifies six life-giving practices from the life of Jesus that address your whole person—mind, body, and spirit. As you are guided toward your own practice of biblical self-care, you will learn how

  • the Bible responds to common myths about soul care
  • a lack of soul care impacts your relationships, ministries, and careers
  • to recognize the signs and signals of burnout and respond proactively with practical solutions

Empty people cannot fill up others. As you learn to be filled as Jesus was by intentional rhythms and practices, you will experience renewed energy, motivation, and strength to serve others as you never have before!

I could have all the knowledge in the world, but if I don’t have love or the tools to apply it, it’s useless. Debra has constantly amazed me by her fierceness for the message of truth, her willingness to stand when no one else does, and her ability to take big concepts and reveal them to people in simplicity. This book is what I needed in order to realign with Christ in several ways. It’s pointed me back to Him and how to live in fullness which is so essential as believers. This book is practical, easy and enjoyable to read, convicting, and so helpful for anyone experienced burnout. Thank you Debra for a constant voice for truth!

Soul Care is an easy read with so much practical insight. The steps to live a life of joy, free from burnout are laid out very well in the book. I've always loved all of Debra's books (and her podcast available on almost every platform). The 'Soul Care' book is no different and doesn't disappoint! It is worth the read because you are worth investing in so you can thrive. I especially liked all the questions at the end of each chapter. It helped reinforce the content. If you're not living well, not thriving, missing joy from your day-to-day life, carrying the weight of burnout, maybe this is the book you need to read.

As a busy mom with so much on my plate, it’s so easy to lose sight of what is required to fill up in order to pour out. There is so much wisdom and practical advice in this book to address the various components of our crazy lives that require our attention, however she spells it out with simplicity without being overwhelming. I love how she breaks things down chapter by chapter and encourages you to identify and hone in on areas that may be particularly problematic. Not to mention, I just love how her personality shines in her writing. She approaches her readers with warmth, and kind and gentle truths. I learned so much and highly recommend this read.

Learning how to replenish so that we can in turn give to others is the message of this book. Debra makes it easy to understand the why behind this urgent need to replenish. We live fast paced lives and we can quickly become burnt out. This book combines truths from the Word of God, incorporating Science as well as Psychology making it an amazing resource for self reflection and deeper growth. If I had only one resource for helping me avoid burnout and live a fuller l life, this book would be it!

It teaches you ways to repair the damage of always pouring out, but rarely, filling up. Prioritize the time to read this book. Even if you think you’re doing ok, every single person will benefit from reading this book.
