About this item

Zane was driving home from work when the world changed.

Thousands of dungeons spawned at once, taking up every inch of Earth—including the road he’s driving on. He wakes up to a totaled car and a broken leg, facing down a goblin trying to spear him through the guts. And that's just the start of it.

But to Zane’s surprise, he finds himself enjoying this brutal new world. While others cower and hide, he goes on the hunt. He unlocks a unique Berserker skill—the more damage he takes, the stronger he gets.

Soon he’s beating down monster hordes, solo clearing dungeons, unlocking powerful Skills, and striking out to conquer more and more.

It turns out Zane was born to fight. And in this new world rife with terrible monsters and awesome powers alike, where opportunity is anyone’s for the taking, he’ll thrive.

An action-packed blend of LitRPG Apocalypse and Xianxia with 2 million views on Royalroad. Perfect for fans of Defiance of the Fall, The Primal Hunter, and Road to Mastery!

What a great read!! Haven’t read something this good in a while. Can totally see this being made into a series. The next GOT or Walking Dead. Just such fantastic storytelling and creativity. The characters have such depth. Even the side characters. Such dynamic world building. I absolutely loved it. Such a fun and engaging read! Highly recommend

Yes it is very much like Defiance of the Fall. Some differences , but a lot of very close concepts. One big difference is the speed in which the story is told . Using DotF as a way point it is warp speed ahead with the story telling . I think it misses some character build up but still overall a great story.

Good news, It was a long book and it was pretty well edited, but It wasn't very original. I still recommend it, I've definitely read worse things. Give it a shot and see how it works out for you. The MC in the beginning is super cringe but it does get better. Just push through. Of

This book is a treatise on how to write an opmc without taking the tension out of the story. Fun and exciting, well paced, and great character arcs and world building. A must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gritty, down to earth pummeling at its best is how it starts for Zane

He soon realizes that he can fight monsters in dungeons to gain levels, gaining skills and elemental connections are all part of surviving and becoming stronger in this apocalyptic earth.
Zane is a big lug of a human, emotionally he’s shallow as a puddle unless you are talking rage and a love of a good physical fight and beat down. He isn’t above taking a beat down either as long as it helps him progress and in this new version of reality, he will need all the strength he can get. So on to the next fight and the next and the next he goes, he also helps some people and somehow ends up with a safe zone on his shoulders. He meets the woman he never knew he needed and wanted and then makes her deal with all that ruling stuff while he goes to smash stuff. It’s a good story and a fun read and I look forward to the next!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Much Better Series Than I Thought

I liked the world building in this, and the overall journey of the MC was very enjoyable. I found the MC to be both simple and complex at the same time. I'm also enjoying those secondary characters, and am looking forward to how everyone progresses in the next book. Excellent beginning of this series.

Reminds me of One-Punch Man, but with cultivating and more character development. My new favorite series. So the MC is OP, which is nothing new. However, the side characters are unique, interesting, and add a funny note to the storyline. Lovin this series and already half way through the second book. Enjoy!
