About this item

From USA Today best-selling author Rina Kent comes a new stand-alone dark romance about a villain and his new obsession.

I caught the attention of a monster.

I didn’t ask for it. Didn’t even see it coming.

But the moment I do, it’s too late.

Killian Carson is a predator wrapped in sophisticated charm.

He’s cold-blooded, manipulative, and savage.

The worst part is that no one sees his devil side.

I do.

And that will cost me everything.

I run, but the thing about monsters?

They always chase.

This book is a dark unconventional romance and contains themes that aren't to everyone's liking. Please check the author's note in the ebook for content warnings before listening.

5.0 out of 5 stars who doesnt love a psyco

God of Malice by Rina Kent is a dark, seductive, and utterly thrilling romance that I rated a solid 5 stars. The story follows Killian Carson, a dangerously charming antihero, and Glyndon, the fierce yet vulnerable woman who finds herself tangled in his web.

This book is packed with tension, mind games, and raw chemistry that leaps off the page. Rina Kent crafts a gripping narrative filled with secrets, obsession, and emotional depth, making it impossible to put down. The toxic, magnetic romance and the morally grey characters make it a deliciously twisted ride from start to finish.

A must-read for dark romance lovers craving a tale of love, danger, and destruction. ????

A dark psychopath barely hanging onto control fall in obsessive love with a damaged, vulnerable woman. Epic. Amazing. Twisted. The only downside to the book was the end where there were conversations from the perspective of their parents, people I had no idea who they were. It then made sense that the parents had each had books that I hadn’t read. So that made me disconnect a little. This must be 2nd gen book. Otherwise absolutely amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Glyndon & Killian

Glyndon is consumed with unraveling the mystery about the recent loss of a close friend. While by his death site, she meets Killian, who forces himself onto her. From that point on, he made it his mission to claim her.

I love the banter between Glyn and Killian. Their relationship grew quickly and Glyn put up a good fight with trying to deny her temptations.

All of the spice was PERFECT! If you love non and dub non, Rina did this perfectly! ????

I enjoyed the incorporation of all of The Heathens and how you could picture each character. Rina did a great job at giving personality to every one of them.

I also love the twists and turns that were revealed throughout the book. I could never guess what was going to be the truth.

???? I listened to the audiobook for this read and went into this book blindly. It was a great performance! The voice for Glyndon was excellent and she did a really good job at voicing the other characters. The voice of Killian I wish was different, but still was great!

Onto GOP!

I am having such a hard time rating this book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (3.5)

Honestly I give the concept and actual story a 4.0 if not a bit higher. I think it’s really interesting to see such mentally diverse characters. My issue with the book was actually the authors writing, but again I’m so torn because I actually really liked the story. To anyone contemplating reading it, do it, BUT.. the trigger warnings are very accurate. As an example, if you read Haunting Adeline and didn’t like it.. I can almost guarantee this book isn’t for you. I’m like 80% sure.

Likes:
Again, liked the story a lot. Very different from anything I have ever read. Loved the side characters focus and the early build into relationships that will obviously turn into their own books. I imagine I will continue to enjoy this series as I get to know the characters more and more before I read their actual books. I also liked bringing the parents POV into the mix, although I didn’t realize until a quarter of the way through this series is about the children of characters in a previous series. I may backtrack and read those first as this book contains small spoilers of those. Also actually liked the way the author seemed to stay true to who Killian was and how he works. We didn’t get some huge romanticized version of him and I’m happy about that as it would have felt fake otherwise. Spice was actually pretty good but I only gave it a 3.5 due to it being open door and mostly just rough. It wasn’t the most descriptive which is what I personally prefer, so I gotta save my 4.0-5.0’s. No issues with this spice though. I felt it was pretty fitting for the characters.

Dislikes:
Okay. The writing in general seemed clunky to me. The author seemed to want to use classic “teen” language, using words like “totally” and “like”, to the point I felt like I was reading a 16 year olds diary, and some British phrases and cursing seemed forced like she went back and added them because she thought that’s what a British person or 19 year old would say. There were also quite a few typos, like you’re instead of your or the blatant misspelling of the word ill-fated. To be even more picky, she used the phrase “in retrospect” 5 times in the book and I’m pretty sure about half those times didn’t actually use the phrase correctly. Character wise I think she was almost could have gone deeper with Glyndons character. I feel like I never really was invested in her as a person the way I was with Killian or even Cecily or Anni.

I will continue this series and may backtrack to the parents series. This book does say stand-alone but I think a little heads up that I should have really started with the 7?? Book prequel would have been nice like she does for the other books in the Gods series.

Definitely kept me up until I finished the book. Love the whole story line. The whole series is a must read if you like your stories on the dark side. I'm actually rereading them all again.
