About this item

Frosty former friends get a steamy second chance in this Christmas gay romance!

Can true love warm his frozen heart?

When Casey Stevens went away to college four years ago, he ghosted on his straight best friend, Joel Vreeland. He hoped time and distance would lessen the unrequited affection he felt, but all it did was make him miss Joel more. Home for the holidays, Casey hopes they might find a way to be friends again. But Joel’s frosty reception reminds Casey of just how hard he had to fight to be Joel’s friend in the first place. It’s going to take a Christmas miracle to get past that cool façade again.

Joel isn’t as straight as Casey believes, and his years of pining for Casey have left him hurting and alone, caring for his abusive father and struggling to get by. Unable to trust anyone except his rescue dog - and with no reason to believe Casey is interested in him for more than a holiday fling - Joel’s icy heart might shatter before it can thaw.

Can Casey and Joel’s love overcome mistrust, parental rejection, class differences, and four long years apart? Mr. Frosty Pants is a stand-alone, Christmas gay romance by Leta Blake featuring a virgin hero, childhood friends-to-lovers, second chance romance, and steamy mm first times.

What a wonderful feel- good Christmas tale. I loved this book! The characters are
well thought out and intriguing. I felt like I knew them. The world is vibrant and alive, drawing you in. There are loyal friends, humor, remembrances, family angst, first times, pride and trust issues, and a little Christmas magic. Oh, and a big, slobbery, loveable dog. What's not to love!
This is Joel and Casey's story. Casey has loved Joel since high school. Believing Joel is straight, he leaves for college after coming out to his rich, biased parents, not knowing how to tell him. Coming home after almost 4 years away, he wants to clear the air between them. Joel is having a really rough time. With his abusive dad in a nursing home, debt piles up. Now running the family store, while trying to be a successful writer, Joel is still the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. But Casey is back. And Joel isn't straight. He has been in love with Casey forever. The frosty walls he has built up are being tested. When they break, watch out! The heat factor is off the charts. Casey doesn't expect to be Joel's first time, for everything. But he is determined to be his last time. And he will fight everyone to keep him, even Joel himself.
This book will make you laugh, cry, hope, and believe in the magic of the Season. Yes, there is smoking hot sex. Trigger: there is past physical and emotional abuse. There is bravery, understanding, and HEA. You will love this book!
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

This was wonderful!!! Mr Frosty pants just needed a reason to melt.

Best friends to forever is my favorite trope of all time! And this one does it beautifully!!!

Classic wealthy side of the lake vs the “other” side as childhood best friends reunite at Christmas and defy everyone’s -and their own- expectations to find the true love they’ve always had for each other.

    Dual POV
    Spicy and delicious

5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond awesome... once of the very best books I've read all year!

I hardly know where to start... reading this book was more than just an enjoyable experience, it was beyond emotional, just truly amazing beyond words. With 23 highlights it shattered my previous high, there were just so many incredible lines in here, the author's writing just kept touching me again and again. On top of that she had me overwhelmed with happy tears pretty much constantly for the entire last quarter of the book. And she did that with two awesome main characters who I feel like are family, without having to resort to "angst for angst" sake. She told the story in such a way that I KNEW in every word and every sentence that these two people where meant for each other forever. No matter what there was never a doubt. You may say that this should be true of any HEA story, but believe me there have been too many times where an author just doesn't do their job of truly making a couple's relationship feel like it's the real deal. Ms. Blake went so far beyond sufficient... she made Joel and Casey's together beyond real. And the love scenes in this book were not only scorching hot... they were the most passionate I think I have ever read in a m/m romance. I was about to say that I just don't have the words to convey how incredible this book left me feeling... then I looked at the above and realized inadequate as they may be I did okay... LOL

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected

This is a really cute holiday romance. I wish I would’ve read it for Xmas. It sweet and steamy and not at all what I expected. So while I really loved it some things felt off and that might’ve been my preconceptions. I thought I had a read on who they were and their dynamics but then that was all throne out the window. I thought of Casey as a young boy why seemed like a small naive kids enamored with the bad boy but then when they reconnected Joel was the small heartsick and emotional man and Casey was the strong determined and confident man. And the Top. Which isn’t bad but I had an idea of where the story was going and it went somewhere completely unexpected. Overall it was a really sweet romance but I just felt like the pst was disconnected from the present. Like the characters didn’t really reflect their past self and that might be all me.

I read the second book before this, and it so nice to finally meet this couple properly. I love them. A perfect friends to more Christmas story. Finding love with the one you always loved. I enjoyed the determination to be together. This story could have went wrong with how much drama there could have been and it stayed on course. I enjoyed the MC’s and their banter, their love and their honesty. I loved the side characters as well, and hope that a certain step brother, or business partner’s son, or ex boyfriends get their Christmas stories next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your typical Christmas novel

I'm generally a fan of Leta Blake. I was actually going to pass on this one, though, because it had a few things in the blurb that I'm not crazy about. Young adult characters, a virgin hero, a main character who had ghosted his best friend when he went away to school. I wasn't sure I'd like it and I had lots of other books I wanted to read. However, several friends highly recommended it so I decided to give it a chance. I was very glad I did.

First of all, this isn't a typical holiday novella. It's a full length book with fully developed main characters and some strong secondary characters as well. The story and the dialog are extremely well done and very believable. Even though Casey and Joel gear up their romance very quickly they have been in love with each other for many years. They have complex relationships with their families and the strife is realistic. Ms. Blake isn't afraid to write characters with faults and their faults don't keep them from being extremely lovable. Although Joel was my favorite I was very fond of Casey as well. Bruno the pitbull was the true star, of course.

I actually think this is some of Ms. Blake's best work. An extremely satisfying romance that happens to be set in the Christmas season.
