About this item

ASH

All stepbrothers need Step Don'ts.

Colin and I have ours.

Like, don't pit our parents against either of us. Don't hog the TV. And definitely...

Don't.

Keep.

Secrets.

These rules have done more than help us keep the peace between us.

After all these years since our parents got together, I can't imagine my life without Colin.

To most people, he's the hot, straight tight end for Peach State.

But to me, he's my backward-cap-wearing, football-loving, piggyback-ride-giving best friend and fellow Alpha Theta Mu frat bro.

Life's pretty incredible living together at the same frat house, but suddenly, I find myself keeping a particularly naughty secret.

I tell myself Colin wouldn't want to know what his bi bro does in private, but then why do I feel like I'm committing a huge Step Don't?

COLIN

There's nothing I'm more of an expert in than my stepbro, Ash.

He's a quick-witted, nerd-boy genius who's always there to help a friend cram for a test or capture bugs for me when they invade my space.

He's my favorite person.

Making him happy gives me a rush...but for the first time, he's keeping a secret from me.

When Ash cops to his Step Don't—his new extracurricular of doing dirty things on camera—I'm confused.

He is too, so we work together to figure out why this excites him so much.

In places we're likely to get caught.

After all, what's a little exhibitionism between stepbros?

I didn't even realize I could be into guys—or be so intoxicated by these new experiences—but exploring my bisexuality with Ash is the best thing that's ever happened to me.

And with each touch, each time we up the stakes, I discover I want more than just Ash's body.

I want his heart too, even though that surely must be the biggest Step Don't of all.

This is the second book in the Peach State Stepbros Series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone.

I really enjoyed Ash and Colin. They were a lot of fun to read and they sort of just fell into the relationship with ease.
I really loved the relationship between the guys and how they were basically dating without realizing it from the beginning. I thought that was clever and adorable at the same time. I can't wait for the next one.

Ash and Colin have a really sweet relationship. They are happily codependent bffs and stepbros. I love how seriously they take their Step Don’t rules. It’s one of my favorite things when characters are good communicators, and these two are wonderful at being open and honest with each other (most of the time). This story is low angst as Colin who assumed he was straight before finding out about Ash’s kink has no real issue with his newly revealed sexuality, nor does he have an issue with Ash’s kink. These two are so close and so devoted to one another right from the start, and getting involved with each other on a physical level only deepens their bond, so I’m honestly not sure what the story is really about. Yet somehow Hart and McCormack are strong enough writers that I was invested in the story all the way to the end. Looking back on it, I don’t know how they managed to make a story with so little conflict and so few obstacles so compelling, but they did.

I loved getting to see Atlas and Troy again. And I was delighted to see Taylor and Brenner’s single parents mingling in the epilogue. I’m definitely looking forward to the Step Dare next ????

This is just a happy book pretty much the entire way through. No angst, at all. There isn't even a hint of drama until like 90%...and even that was barely anything. So if you like that, you would probably enjoy this. It was entertaining, but not something I would ever reread. I need a little more emotion in my books. I also couldn't tell the difference between the 2 characters at all. If it didn't say their names I would have no idea who was talking or whose thoughts we were listening to.

Ash and Colin have an amazing relationship. They were great even before they got together, but after they were even sweeter to each other. Ash can get in his head sometimes, and Colin had a wonderful way of reassuring him without talking down to him. Ash's mom was not the best, but in the end, she showed him she truly cared but just wasn't great at showing that. Ash needed that even though Colin provided that love so easily. I can't wait for Brenner and Taylor!

I really enjoyed Colin and Ash’s story. It was sweet, funny, and had some amazingly hot sexy times. Colin and Ash’s story is of the two of them coming from a blended family who are super close and the best of friends who find themselves thinking of each other in ways that are not so platonic. I absolutely loved the friendship side these two shared with each other. They were so close they knew what the other was thinking/feeling and I appreciated how open and honest they could be even before their relationship went to the next level. That communication only helped them as they navigated what could be their new life together. I loved the supportive friends and frat brothers they had in their lives. It was great to see glimpses of people we got to know in this first book, and after the soft setup for the third book, I can’t wait for more!

You don’t have to read the first book, but it helps. These stepbrothers’ story is similar to the first couple’s, but different enough to key it interesting. As with the first book, this one is filled with love in all its forms, and the world of the books surrounds the couple with that love and a whole lot of fun. There’s also a lead-in to what could be yet a third book!

Book 2 in the peach state stepbros series. I'm here for it. This story about Colin and Ash, whom we met in book 1, is so very playfully sweet and fun. Both men are nerdy goofballs. Having been best friends almost from the time they met. Always flirty with each other. Things start to change and grow. Ash
Breaks one of their step-donts. A set of rules they put in place when they were younger. When he goes to fix it, he tells Colin. Their relationship starts to evolve into more and interesting things.

This story is flirty and fun, totally weird in a goofball way, and very sexily hot.

Can't wait for more. There are also scenes with Troy and Atlas from book one.

This is not here to win book awards, people, and I don't believe the authors intended to But if you are looking for a quick, light, super cute and super spicy read this is an outstanding book for that. It is lower angst than the first but I feel spicier. I'm looking forward to Brenner and Taylors book. I was wondering how that was gonna come together. ????
