About this item

A spinoff of the Cat & Mouse Duet...

“Molly Devereaux has been missing for more than two weeks, and police are still searching for the girl who seemed to vanish out of thin air. The world still wants to know... Where's Molly?”

In my dreams, I never escaped the Oregon woods.

Life after death isn't easy to accept, especially when I still feel like a ghost.

Now, I live deep in the mountains of Montana—the paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors.

Horrors that I only unleash at night.

When my pigs are allowed to feast.

It is strongly recommended to listen to Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline before Where's Molly.

Important Note: This is a dark romance that contains dark subject matter. Please refer to the author's website for content warnings.

Falls nowhere short of incredible... just as the rest of the stories H.D Carlton has written. With hate, love, fear, joy, anger, tears.... I hope for these stories to continue as I'm not ready to say goodbye to any of the Charaters. What an amazing, yet scary world written into them. The hardest part is knowing this stuff exists in our own reality. She has done an astounding job, and I can not wait to see where Molly's story goes.

After reading Haunting/Hunting Adeline, I was excited to dive into Where’s Molly. Molly’s life has been anything but ideal, and the only bright spot is her sister, Layla (Emma). Betrayed by the one person who should have protected her, she falls into the hands of traffickers. While the storyline intrigued me, I have mixed feelings about how it played out.

The narrative alternates between flashbacks and the present day, while also weaving in Cage’s growing feelings for Molly. I really enjoyed watching Cage insert himself into Molly’s life after discovering she had returned to Montana. However, certain parts of the plot felt underdeveloped, leaving some gaps. For instance, Molly’s escape plan from the “house of horrors” was carefully thought out, but her reunion with Layla felt rushed and less planned. I was also curious about the store clerk who witnessed Molly’s abduction—this subplot wasn’t fully resolved. While I understand Molly’s desire to remain a ghost, I still hoped for more closure on that front.

The ending felt a bit abrupt, but I was glad to see Adeline finally meet Molly, which was a nice touch. Despite some disappointments, I still found the story enjoyable and engaging. Now, on to Sibby’s story next!

80 highlights are saying a lot, but still few words.

HD why is it sooo short? I need more!!! Molly is great character and Cage, come one girl I want him! Still it was not so dark as expected, but it was still very good. I would really like to read more about this whole business of Mollys - I’m horror woman sooo I really enjoyed this whole pig eating!
Ending and bonus ending was just amazing and really, please write more books about these two!!

and one last thing, which will probably give me some hate, but

    Cage > Zade (I’m sorry ???? (I’m not really ????))

    Genre/Trope: Dark Romance
Book Type: Standalone, but connected to a series.
    Book Length: Shorter Novel
    POV: Alternating Dual
    Setting: Montana
Male MC: Cage Everhart is a talented man who helps people escape painful pasts and start anew. He is intelligent, charming, funny, incredibly sweet but also has a darker side that wants to ensure justice is served to people who harm others. Cage’s age ranges from 27-36 and he has dark brown hair and forest-green eyes.
Female MC: Molly Devereaux was sold to human traffickers when she was 20 by her disgusting father. She escaped the house of horrors to begin her life on the run after encountering a mysterious man. She grew into a very resourceful woman and learned to cope with her pain and abuse by ridding the world of evil men and women with the help of some very hungry pigs on her farm. Molly’s age ranges from 20-34; she is tall with dark brown curly hair, emerald-green eyes and has several bite marks scarring her body and face.
    Endearment: Little Ghost and Baby
    Spice Level: Medium
    Frequency of Spice: Low/Medium
    Angst Level: Low
    Cliffhanger: No
My Review: I was so excited to read Molly’s book once I heard it was coming out. She is the young girl who wrote in the journal that Addie finds in the Cat and Mouse duet. Molly’s story was dark, but not overly such. We don’t get a ton of details about her time in captivity, and that was honestly fine with me. This story was about Molly’s journey afterward, how she met Cage, and then reconnecting 9 years later with him again. I loved her and Cage together so much. He was a light in her very dark world and he provided a kindness and protectiveness that helped her heal old wounds and learn to trust her heart and love again. Cage was funny and so charming and I adored him for her. I would have liked the book to be a little bit longer, only because these two were perfect for each other and I just wanted to stay in their orbit forever.
