    I am just loving this series and Brooks and Skylar were fabulous! Skylar is coming out of a toxic relationship and struggling to trust in himself and others. Brooks is just amazing with Skylar. This is such a sweet slow burn as they become friends, build trust with each other, and then move forward to more. Brooks is the dream boyfriend, just so amazing to Skylar and I love how he treats him with so much respect, love, and kindness. His acceptance and attraction to Skylar was so beautiful to watch. He has never been with a man before, but that did not stop him one bit from falling head over heels and he never once held back with his feelings. And when the clothes came off things really heated up but were also so incredibly intimate and tender too!
    There is also the fantastic cast of characters that make up this lovely, small town. Fisher and Hudson are back, along with all their friends, and Brook's grandma, who I adored! This book overlaps with the timeline from book 1 and was so great to see some of the things from a different perspective, including the battle for developing real estate in Swallow Cove! I am so excited for what's to come with this town and the wonderful people who live there!

    This is a great world of characters. Found family and friends all up in each other's business. I enjoyed reading about Skylar and his journey to accepting himself just the way he is. His past relationship was toxic and had him full of self-doubt. Brooks finds himself drawn in by the outsider immediately. He helps Skylar become more confident in his own skin. Skylar's love of lingerie is hot. I love a good slow burn between characters. This story definitely has that!! When Brooks and Skylar come together, it's from a place of love and respect. That's what makes their story worth reading.

    DJ Jamison continues her wonderful view of this special place: Swallow Cove. In this visit there's a timeline overlap with the previous book, but it only serves to strengthen and enhance those events. Our main characters are frequently mentioned in the previous book, and in this telling, their back story, growth, awakening and strong partnership develops in a manner that was fulfilling.

    Sky, the son of a mega business investor, developer and owner, exits a toxic relationship by a controlling boyfriend and also the son of an investor developer. Brooks Riggins is the operator of a bar owned by Sky's father, and becomes the pretend boyfriend to shield Sky from his toxic "x."

    And to no surprise, the two become lovers with Brooks' bi awakening and his very protective and giving nature. It is an adventure of new things and in full display, the protector behavior of Brooks. The storytelling is excellent, and the familiar characters and places of the first installment in this series are emphasized.

    I absolutely loved reading this book. I'm off to the third in the series and will rejoice in returning to Swallow Cove for another Happy Ever After.

    Well, DJ Jamison has done it again. Brooks and Skylar stumbled into each other’s lives and hearts, two men who were a little broken, a little lost, and a LOT lonely. Together and separately, they blossomed. I love seeing complex, intimately connected characters like this. For as hot as the spicy scenes are - and they are, in fact, hot enough to melt asphalt - it’s equally delicious to read about Brooks and Sky taking care of each other, becoming more to each other than just a “temporary thing”, falling in love. I’m hooked (ha) again and I award this book the golden (fishing) rod!

    This is the second book in this series! This is Brooks and Skylar's story! Wonderful engaging story! Sweet romantic story and I really loved the characters! I read an advanced copy of this story and this is my unbiased review! Loved it!

    I enjoyed this second installment in the Swallow Cove series, overall, but had a few mixed feelings about it.

    I liked the individual characters of Brooks and Skylar quite a bit and their respective backstories were well thought out. Brooks' obligations to his grandmother and background with his mother were heartbreaking, and Skylar's problems with a stalkery ex-boyfriend was compelling. What didn't quite do it for me was the fact that I didn't quite buy the fact of them together. There's always some element of instalove in romance but it was just a bit too far for me to believe in Brooks' bisexual (pansexual?) awakening with Skylar, at least based on his character.

    But even if I didn't quite buy their relationship totally, I enjoyed their support of one another. One other aspect I enjoyed was the depiction of characters involved in managing and creating businesses, an area that isn't often covered in MM romance, at least not well in my opinion. Here it is, particularly with Brooks challenges in planning and opening a new resort in the Swallow Cove area to be quite interesting.

    Looking forward to the next installment.

    Pretty Buoy is a fun read from beginning to end. I enjoyed how the main characters developed as the book progressed. And of course, a well deserved HEA. The people of Swallow Cove feel like neighbors: nosy and caring all at once. Can be read as a stand alone or as part of the series. I recommend reading the series to really get to know everybody.

    Loved the character and relationship development. Brooks is practically perfect. I got a little annoyed with Sky’s “I need to do it all myself” but I thought the author did a good job of keeping it true to character and wrapping it up nicely. Excited to see the characters again in the next book
