    I am really enjoying this series. 2 books in and the characters and world are great.
    Focusing on this book specifically, there are some slight problems, but overall a fun adventure and this series can go on for a long time (which im totally here for). Please dont rush the story this world has a lot to offer.
    In short some of aspects of the character foreknowledge is already irrelevant and the story has gone from a returners story to an adventure story(nothing wrong with that). On another critique i think the author stayed way too long in the initial instance.
    Overall the story is great but i wish we got to delve deeper into other aspects such as the Heros clan, Brans family, and the tartarus faction (especially with where the author wants to focus next).

    I am always skeptical of stories that have someone who has lived for hundreds of years then suddenly come back to set things right. Inevitably they act like the age they are instead of what they’re supposed to be with their “experience”. Bruce doesn’t fall into this trap. Bran acts much more mature and experienced, as he should, than an 18 year old and I thoroughly enjoy it. Nothing is worse than someone supposed to be old acting like a stuttering teenage twit.

    The continuation of this story was great. The progress kept going smoothly, the fights felt good, and character progression all around was extremely enjoyable.

    Big fan of Bruce and love the Returners Defiance series. It’s only the second book, but this has quickly become a favorite of mine. I read a lot of webtoons and some Korean novels, this gives the same vibes but from a Western perspective. The whole system aspect and traveling back in time is done well. The world building and lore is very interesting and also written well. I enjoy all the characters both the main and side characters as well. Loved this book can’t wait for the next one.

    I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book and series are definitely worth checking out.

    Good book, I hope the series finishes. Action, comedy, passion and a mission. The immaturity was kept out of it.

    This is becoming one of my favorites series! So far I believe this author is brilliant in writing completely immersive magical worlds. I believe this author is one of the best.

    Overall the MC is progressing and the author does something unique again and goes in a different direction than what I thought for the Clan politics and initiation ceremony. The other side characters are becoming increasingly interesting hopefully we get to see more from them.

    Not sure where the story is going to go from here due to the whole time ripples thing and the MCs overarching plan. But I hope to see a bit more crafting and kingdom/ fortress building going on in the next book.

    Again I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read the next installment.

    Can’t wait for the 3rd. Great expansion of the world. Read it in a weekend. Love the depth that is being added to the universe. I hope this series is incredibly long and has spinoffs. Definitely has the potential. Also Bruce has a great way of handling the stats, not drowning you in numbers that cease to have meaning as they grow but giving quick giving context and skipping the long spreadsheets to focus on a key few points that keeps the story going. Huge fan of this. I hope this method spreads to other rpg lit books.

    I am really enjoying this series, competence is my favorite character trait and the MC has it in spades, although for that same reason the healer's (sorry I am awful with names) reluctance to push her abilities is starting to read more like lazy entitlement and less like her just not wanting to be a front line fighter (I can understand not wanting to be a front line fighter, especially since her team has plenty of those but her seeming reluctance to self improve on anything besides her healing and shield, to the extent of being reluctant to improve her blood line is a little... Disappointing) but that could just be me being too harsh on what was originally my favorite character in this series. But that aside I LOVE this book, the world building is fantastic and I am really enjoying how each character has depth and motivation outside the direct scope of the story, a certain hair dyeing boat lover being a good and funny example. I am eagerly awaiting the next book.
