About this item

Twin sisters Cassie and Lenora are inseparable. Ever since that night, they’ve been on their own, and that’s how they like it. As the sole permanent residents of Cabin Two, their refuge on an isolated Tennessee campground, the twins manage to stay away from prying eyes, probing questions, and true-crime junkies. The peace and quiet is almost enough to make them forget what happened all those years ago. Almost.

Until a teenage girl camping at the neighboring cabin goes missing, and the memories come rushing back. As the crime becomes ever more recognizable, each sister suspects the other knows more than she’s letting on. Trapped in the isolating, claustrophobic wilderness, Cassie and Lenora must piece together the truth of what happened—and the sinister truth lurking in their own pasts—before it’s too late.

Are the feelings and closeness twins have for each other real? To what extent will twins go for each other?

An intriguing tale that explores the complexities of identity and personal history. The writing is engaging with a good storyline, a few twists, and not many suspects. I liked the twins and thought they brought depth to the story.
    I received a gifted copy.

4.0 out of 5 stars A twisty ride

This one is a twisty and wild ride! I enjoyed it and found myself really interested in figuring out what happened to (or maybe because of??) twin sisters Cassie & Lenora.

I really liked the setting - it gave the whole book a claustrophobic feeling while simultaneously being expansive and isolating.

The dual POVs and timehopping were a bit tough to follow at times, but it was necessary to the plot and the feeling of impending doom.

The final twist was good, but leaned to the "too much twist for the sake of an extra twist" side of things for me to really truly get behind, which is why it's a 3 for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Twin Arc

Being an identical twin myself, I’m drawn to reading stories featuring twins. I thought this story did a great job with the twin character arc in this psychological thriller. Cassie, a true crime podcaster lives with her sister, Lenora, a ghost writer in a remote resort cabin. Told in a dual, first person point-of-view, the present envelopes both ladies with paranoia as the teen from next door goes missing and opens the locked door to their horrible past. Due to Cassie and Lenora both being an unreliable narrator, the air of mystery never dissipated throughout the story. I thought this was a great debut from the author. I was provided an electronic early copy of this from the publisher.
