About this item

Falling for his client was never part of the plan.

Mal

Adult entertainer. Escort. Camboy. Surfer-bro. Malibu.

I’ve been called many names, yet no one knows the real me. Filming at Elite 8 Studios gave me the fresh start I was looking for, but now, my past is calling, and even working three jobs isn’t enough to keep me afloat. With my anxiety and panic attacks getting worse and my debts on the rise, something needs to change.

When I’m offered an outrageous sum for a new escorting gig, I can’t pass it up. The catch? I’ll be living in the client’s penthouse for the next six months. And I’ll be his—exclusively.

I’ve been warned Henrik is difficult, but all I see is a man who’s protective, caring, and lonely underneath that hard shell of his. He’s also blind. And yet, somehow, he sees me for exactly who I am.

Turning to this man I barely know for comfort is a bad idea—and falling for a client is even worse—but I can’t seem to stop. With only a few months left on our contract, can I convince Henrik to give us a real shot?

Or will I lose the only man who sees the real me?

Malibu is an age gap romance between older client and younger escort, with hurt/comfort, mental health struggles, plenty of sugar daddy jokes, fiercely loyal friends, and one very HEA. It’s book 2 in the Elite 8 Studios series but can be listened to as a standalone.

This book was so well written I can’t even explain. Pick this book up immediately & read it. The character interactions and build up of the story were fantastic. The author did a great job writing Henrik’s blindness.

This book was a fun surprise! I jumped into it with no background knowledge on the series and decided to skip the first book and start with this one. Other than a few references to the previous book it was easy to read as a standalone.

The two MCs are well developed characters and the plot was the perfect combination of fun and serious. I had a lot of fun reading this book and loved as the relationship went from transactional to real. I love how supportive the two characters were of each other and how you really saw their relationship build in a genuine way rather than it being developed through insta lust or something purely sexual. Considering the series is about ????stars I was actually kind of surprised how little spice there was in this book. It still had some great scenes and some spice but don’t go into this book expecting a lot.

While this book does have a MC who is a ????star the two MCs are exclusive for the entirety of the book.

Tropes: Forced Proximity, Hurt/Comfort, ????Star MC, Blind MC, Found Family

I finished reading Malibu and I am once more left with this warm feeling inside. Malibu is book 2 in the Elite 8 Studios series by Emmy Sanders.
Mal is a beautiful person with a rough past that is still present in his life. At Elite 8 Studios he has found a supportive family and fiercely loyal friends. But because of his past, he has a side job and when he is offered an escorting gig he can’t refuse, well, everything starts shifting in his life.
Henrik can be a difficult person on the outside but once Mal moves in with him he realizes that is all a front in order to protect himself. There are rules to follow but just from the start we get to see two people slowly finding what was missing. Henrik is blind but is the one who can really see Mal. He can read silence. Two gentle souls meant to be together. I truly loved their story. Their chemistry is off the charts, there’s lots of yoga, lemon tea, colorful paintings, crosswords (“Before you leap. Four letters”… “Look”), cats, coconut shampoo, family who cares, found family who cares and “The first kiss” scene that made me stop reading for a moment because it is strong and beautiful, just like Mal and Henrik.
Malibu is an M/M age gap romance with a very HEA that could be read as a standalone. Emmy’s books make you feel so much. And I’ll say it again; Emmy’s books make me happy.
“…and I think… I think that’s how life really is. Chaotic, messy, good, and bad. We can try to apply some rhyme and reason to it all, but in the end, life is unordered. And that’s as lovely as it is terrifying.”

Yet another amazing book by Emmy. Both Henrik and Mal were great characters, but Mal and everything he went through as a teen broke my heart. Going through the realization that he was, in fact, a victim of assault and now suffers from extreme PTSD brought tears to my eyes. While I'm typically not a fan of 3rd act breakups and miscommunication tropes, they were done well and were believable for this story.

I am so in love with this book it’s unreal. I have no negative thoughts. I adored everything about it. And I just want to say that Malibu is an angel, and he deserves everything that is good and pure in this world.

Okay so here’s the juice. Mal is a gay pornstar. A pretty popular one. He’s having some issues, though. He’s in financial distress because of paying for his ill mother’s care and on top of that, he’s struggling from a pretty severe panic disorder. He’s not doing well. For some extra money, he’s doing this escort job. That’s where he meets Henrik. Henrik is paying a pretty penny for an escort, but the escort has to live with him and be exclusive to him for the next six months. Mal needs the money desperately, so obviously he’s going to do whatever it takes to finish out this contract with the grumpy Henrik. Did I mention that Henrik is blind?

I loved Mal and Henrik together. They were both so touchy feely and mushy with each other. Henrik is also extremely possessive of Mal, but we love that. There was one part where Mal came home from a club with his friends and he smelled like other men, and Henrik was like yeah we aren’t doing that. It was delicious. Also, the sex was good. But honestly, I think I liked the emotional aspect of the book more than the sex. The sappy stuff just checked all my boxes. I’m serious about being in love with this book. I literally want to re-read it right now. This was my first book by this author, and now I’ll definitely have to check out some more of her books.

PS: I will warn you that you might want to check out the trigger warnings before diving into this book.

    I'm here for it!

Malibu feels like he finally finds the person who truly sees him, not his Malibu persona.

Best book I have read all year! I laughed. I cried. I got aroused. LOL. Seriously though. This book is wonderful. It touches on very delicate issues but is still a comfort book. You just know that everything is going to be ok and that there will be a very happy ending. Wink wink. ❤️

It was ok. The premise was very intriguing. Rich businessman who happens to be blind hires an escort. Not a lot happens after that. There’s cooking, adopting pets, sweet moments. A tiny sliver of angst. I wondered where the plot went but maybe it’s just a fluffy and light hearted book. It just left me wanting more
