About this item
A step-by-step system for mastering trading psychology.
Think about your most costly and recurring trading mistakes. Chances are that they're related to common errors, such as chasing price, cutting winners short, forcing mediocre trades, and overtrading. You've likely tried to fix these errors by improving your technical skills, and yet they persist. That's because the real source of these mistakes is not technical - they actually stem from greed, fear, anger, or problems with confidence and discipline.
If you are like most traders, you probably overlook or misunderstand mental and emotional obstacles. Or worse, you might think you know how to manage them, but you don't, and end up losing control at the worst possible time. You're leaving too much money on the table, which will either prevent you from being profitable or realizing your potential.
While many trading psychology books offer sound advice, they don't show you how to do the necessary work. That's why you haven't solved the problems hurting your performance. With straight talk and practical solutions, Jared Tendler brings a new voice to trading psychology. In The Mental Game of Trading, he busts myths about emotions, greed, and discipline, and shows you how to look past the obvious to identify the real reasons you're struggling.
This book is different from anything else on the market. You'll get a step-by-step system for discovering the cause of your problems and eliminating them once and for all. And through real stories of traders from around the world who have successfully used Tendler's system, you'll learn how to tackle your problems, improve your day-to-day performance, and increase your profits.
Whether you're an independent or institutional trader, and regardless of whether you trade equities, forex, or cryptocurrencies, you can use this system to improve your decision-making and execution. Finally, you have a way to reach your potential as a trader. Now's the time to make it happen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read

5.0 out of 5 stars No B.S, straight to the point. READ THIS if you seriously want to be a full time trader.
Wow, this book is amazing. I NEVER write reviews, seriously. I'm naturally a tough critic of all things in life, but when i bought this book, it changed so much for me. Please note, that i am actually listening to the audible and i think that helps a lot. It's like being in a 1 on 1 therapy session. It really resonates. This is not a book you read a chapter a night or anything. I recommend listening to 20-30 minutes a day, and then re-listening to it over and over again, creating bookmarks as you move thru it. I like to put on my headphones and listen to the audible version when walking the dog, or walking on the treadmill. Physical exercise + mental stimulation is a good combo especially when your life is trading. Anyways i'm rambling but seriously, buy this book, you won't regret it unless you don't want to face the real demons behind your under performance in trading. Good luck to all of you guys!

5.0 out of 5 stars “The” trading psychology book? You bet!
Jared’s work is impressive. It is the best collection of trading issues that I’ve seen with actual practical ways to deal with them and get over with. I cannot attest for the book method yet as I am working thru it but I am sure that will work because with his guide you are able to get to the root of your problem rather than just “think in probabilities” stuff. I’d give it 10 stars if possible.

4.0 out of 5 stars It’s not an easy read.. but nothing worth doing well is easy

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended: I now have a fighting chance of becoming the trader I’ve always wanted to be.
The easiest (and probably most accurate) way for me to review this book is by allowing it to speak for itself with two quotes. The first describes my experience trading: "Trading is a unique test that can bring out your deepest fears, unresolved rage, and personal insecurities. These problems directly affect your execution and profitability, compelling you to take on too much risk, lock up profit prematurely, or chase losses, but they have nothing to do with trading."
The second quote sums up the potential the process suggested by and detailed in the book holds for me: "I liken the process to chopping down a tree. You may want a chainsaw, but you get an ax. For some of you, the tree is large, you're weak, and the ax has a blunt edge. Over time, as you work the process, you get stronger, and learn how to sharpen your ax. Just like becoming a skilled trader, you have to put in a lot of work. There's no other way."
To accurately review this book I'd need to do more than read it, I'd need to work it, which is exactly what I intend to begin doing. Just as trading offers the allure of quick riches, the reality is very different. And just as understanding mental game problems can be as easy as reading a book, addressing my mental habits to create effective and lasting change can take monumental effort. I suspect that finally I've been offered a map towards resolution that with diligent focus and a light touch will allow me to progress towards my goals and away from the nightmares that regularly sink me.
I'll re-review once I've travelled down the path some.
