About this item

"If you're so concerned about my humanity, Elena, then reach into my soul and find it, because I'm not sure I have any left."

According to the FBI, I was considered a serial murderer after three kills.

What do they call me after fifty-two?

They call me the Silencer.

One final bullet would have been all it took to stop me from taking another soul, and I would have been doing Meridian City a service by pulling that trigger.

An angel crying for help stopped me, and that night, I took three lives for her. Then three turned into eight. Then eight turned into twenty. Twenty turned into twenty-one. Twenty-one turned into twenty-three.

Elena Young is the hero in my story, but I’m the villain in hers.

And this is the kind of story where the villain gets the girl, even if it kills her.

This is a dark romance novel intended for mature listeners only. Please check trigger/content warnings. This book does not have an HEA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a heartbreaking ???? but addictive story

This book is unlike anything I’ve read before. It’s dark, intense, and utterly captivating. If you’re into morally black main characters who will destroy anyone who even looks at their love interest wrong, this one’s for you. The MMC gives off serious stalker/Batman vibes, complete with a "touch her and literally ????" energy that had me hooked. He falls first. He calls her angel. And yes, there’s plenty of spice—delicious, steamy moments balanced with emotional intensity.

But be warned: this is not a light or fluffy read. It’s an ultra-dark romantic tragedy that will rip your heart out and leave you reeling. The story is raw, hauntingly beautiful, and tragic in ways that you won’t be prepared for (even if you think you are). These characters endure so much pain, and you’ll ache right alongside them.

Ariel N. Anderson doesn’t hold back—this book is an emotional rollercoaster that will break you in the best way possible. It’s devastating, but also unforgettable. The writing, the pacing, the emotional depth—it all comes together to create something powerful.

This book hurt me, and I loved every second of it. Bravo, Ariel. You shattered my heart. ????????????

P.S. I will never look at pancakes the same way again.

Bonus Recommendation: Make sure to read or listen to Dalilah, the short novella that follows this book. I listened to the audiobook for both, and I highly recommend it if you can. Joe Arden and Lee Daniels deliver an absolutely amazing performance that makes the experience even more immersive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Completely screwed up but incredibly captivating

WARNING: This book is not for the faint of heart. Read with caution.

This book was Wow!! It is a completely f%c&-ed up storyline, without a doubt. So if you are looking for a happily ever after, lovely romance story, this is NOT the book for you. BE WARNED.

This book is dark. Not pitch-black for the sake of blackness alone dark, rather it is a well-written, tragicly dark, painful romance. It is so incredibly well-written that it keeps you hooked, even though much of the story is fairly predictable as far as who the bad guys are with little twists of any kind, but the writing itself is so well done and captivating.

The characters are extremely well written as well. Fully fleshed out characters that are very distinct from one another. The story didn't have the most character development throughout the story, but there was some. I would say that Elena really had the least development, which was a bit disappointing, as right up to the end she was clueless about every thing. I mean everything. She has to be one of the most clueless characters I have read that cannot pick up on the most obvious of clues. Christian, however, had a great deal of character growth, which was good to see, though he seemed to be a bit clueless about some of the obvious hints as well.

In short, although the storyline was fairly predictable as far as bad guys go and there were exactly zero twists I didn't see coming, the writing is so well done that I didn't want to put the book down! And that is the defining feature of any great story.

    3/5????️

    **Tropes**
    - Touch Her & ????
    - Dark Romance
    - Billionaire

    **???? My Thoughts**
This one was dark. While there were very tough scenes, it was so well written that it just couldn't stop. The obsessed stalker Billionaire was so unhinged that I was shocked through most of the book. He isn't morally grey, he's pitch black. The FMC maybe wasn't my favorite type of character but her development through the book kept me wanting more. Overall I really enjoyed reading this.

    **⚠️ Triggers**
    - Murder
    - Sexual Assault (graphic)
    - Serial Unaliver
    - Stalking
    - Manipulation in a relationship

    **????️ Spice**
The spice in this book wasn't as spicy as you might expect. I think it really comes down to the fact that there is more plot than spice. With the being said, I don't think that is a bad thing for this story. It really felt like a good ratio of spice to plot.

I loved this book! The emotion the narrators have in the audio book is incredible! So many ups and downs. There are predictable parts, but not enough to ruin the story. The ending left me shocked! The book is intense, very dark, and does not end in HEA. If HEA is a must for you, don’t read this book.
