About this item

Jamie Winship spent nearly thirty years living and working in conflict zones, and during that time he has learned an important truth: all human conflict originates from fear, and fear originates from a false view of God, ourselves, and others. Until we exchange what's false for what's real, we will never experience being fully alive, fully human, and fully free.

Unpacking the power of knowing our true identity in Christ, Winship takes us on a journey of telling ourselves the truth, changing our mindsets, and experiencing actual life transformation that leads to radical courage in the face of all that life throws at us. With humor, clarity, and real-life practicality, Living Fearless is your invitation to listen closely to what God is trying to say to you about himself, about the person he created you to be—and also about all those other people he created and loves.

If you want to discover the incredible difference abiding in Christ will make in your life and faith, get ready to do "a new thing" with God.

In yet another awe inspired way, I have been opened up to hearing and seeing God, Jesus and the holy Spirit in a different way.

This is well written and packed with personal and potentially relatable testimonies.

I'm looking forward to the next book ???? done by Mr. Winship if there is one ???? to come.

If permitted & applied, this little book can change lives. I’ve come back & purchased 5 extra copies as gifts, & my small group just chose this one to tackle together next. I’m so excited to go through it again I may not be able to wait for them.
I believe the author has so accurately unpacked the depths of what I’ve been searching for, my entire life.
If you dare, take the plunge into the truth of the most foundational topic that exists in life, aside from the gospel. It requires true courage, but is so worth it.

As a student going into college, if you don’t have a grasp of what your identity is within Christ, you will be let stray in so many different ways! This book helped me find myself and who made me to be. I would recommend this book to so many people, if they get the chance to buy it. I have already bought and given away one and plan to do more!

This book makes a relationship with God real and readily available. The testimonies are relevant, edgy and relevant. Gone are the days of just a mental ascent. We can experience all of God, right now. I am telling everyone I know about this simple book and it's ease of engagement.

4.0 out of 5 stars Positively Challenged plus a Few Critiques
Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2024
I both loved and was uncomfortable with this book. It was particularly challenging to me as I grew up seeing spiritual abuse in the form of people claiming to have heard things directly from God that were clearly not and using those words to control others. Jamie Winship’s call for Christians to listen to God by asking him direct questions and writing down what comes to mind in that moment was difficult for me to accept. I also occasionally didn’t love his interpretations of Scripture. Particularly in the case for David’s fight with Goliath, it felt to me that David’s individual identity was emphasized over his collective identity as a member of God’s chosen people. I feel that the story focuses on the latter. I wish Winship would have talked more about collective fear and identity. His focus on individual identity and self-worth comes dangerously close to the social emphasis: “believe in yourself.”

While it may seem like I have a lot of critiques, I loved his practical approach to prayer and confession. I had to ask myself the question, “Do I really believe the Spirit speaks today?” This approach is a very powerful and practical way for us to disciple one another and to lead the Church towards bringing the Kingdom here to this world now as we wait for Jesus to complete his work in us.
