"A stunning and accomplished debut, with hugely relatable characters and an addictive storyline that kept me turning the pages well into the night. Bravo!"—BA Paris, New York Times bestselling author

"Wow, The Business Trip was nonstop twists and turns. I loved the unusual way that the story was told, and I kept reading all day long because I couldn't wait to see how it ended!"—Freida McFadden, New York Times bestselling author

THE BUSINESS TRIP is the gripping, binge-worthy debut from author Jessie Garcia.

Stephanie and Jasmine have nothing and everything in common. The two women don’t know each other but are on the same plane. Stephanie is on a business trip and Jasmine is fleeing an abusive relationship. After a few days, they text their friends the same exact messages about the same man—the messages becoming stranger and more erratic.

And then the two women vanish. The texts go silent, the red flags go up, and the panic sets in. When Stephanie and Jasmine are each declared missing and in danger, it begs the questions: Who is Trent McCarthy? What did he do to these women—or what did they do to him?

Twist upon twist, layer upon layer, where nothing is as it seems, The Business Trip takes you on a descent into the depths of a mastermind manipulator. But who is playing who?

A Macmillan Audio production from St. Martin’s Press.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Debut Novel

The business trip by Jessie Garcia was a fast read- I finished it a day because I literally couldn’t put it down. I have never read a book with this many POV’s but the author did it in a way it was not confusing and kept ratcheting up the twists and tension. One main character Jasmine we start out feeling sorry for but soon that change's in breakneck speed. The other main character Stephanie we don’t get a real feel for her personality - I wish Garcia had dug more into what makes her tick. There’s Trent with the overly white smile and obnoxious personality we are meant to hate or be annoyed with and he was definitely a pain in the proverbial butt. Twists turns unreliable narrators. Murder mystery written in a new way I found entertaining- I would just like more in depth characters and one likable one besides the neighbor who feeds Stephanie’s cat. I’m giving four stars and look forward to The authors next novel.

I don't even know where to start.. I'm totally mind blown ????! The reviews on this were great and when the reviews are so hyped up I get extremely worried they won't live up to the high expectations BUT this book surprisingly lived up to all the hype plus more!!
I literally loved the flawed FMC Jasmine and how the author wrote her. I enjoyed the plot line and how it was told in the different timelines with the different characters and their experiences during the timeline.
I can't wait to read more from Jessie Garcia!! I would so recommend this twisty thriller!! By the way the ending will literally have your jaw on the floor.. no kidding I let out an audible GASP!

This book kept me guessing and kept me entertained, but I didn’t care for the unrealistic ending. It would have been better and more believable without the twist.

Let’s start out, I did like the book. It had a lot of twist and turns there was a lot of times. I thought I’d figured it out, but I didn’t. I like the way Jesse writes and I did really like the story and I was happy in the end that justice one out

Wow! If you like twisty plots and red herrings with unbelievably intricate endings, this book is for you!

As they say, Karma can be a *itch. For the book's first half, you become enmeshed in Jasmine's and Stephanies lives. One is leaving her abusive boyfriend, and the other is getting ready to go to a news broadcasters conference. They meet on a plane, and this is the beginning of things going in a much different direction.

I have to admit I really did not like Jasmines' idea that the whole world owes her. She was a character that was pathetic one minute and hateful the next.

I never once thought the book would end the way it did, and I am so glad; otherwise, I don't think I would have been so enthusiastic, nor would I have enjoyed it so much.

Geez, this author can really write---both plot and believable characters.

I highly recommend this book; if you are in a book club, this will be perfect.

I am going to be buying my own copy, and it will be going on my comfort-read bookshelf!

I would give this a five, but I somehow figured this one out before the end. I’m not sure how…..if they only had a 4.50.

Maybe YOU won’t! Definitely worth the read to see!

All of the characters are at least slightly awful, the story is decently interesting but ends abruptly. It's like a bunch of other stories I have read all smashed together.

This book had so many twists and turns. Just when I thought I had figured it out, everything changed. I was shocked at the ending.

I listened to the audio book and enjoyed all the different narrators.

There are characters you like and ones you can’t tolerate but it all makes sense at the end.

    What a stellar debut novel!
