About this item

A “captivating and engaging” (Booklist) memoir by Nicole Walters, the daughter of Ghanaian immigrants who became a self-made multi-millionaire by showing others how to recognize their own strengths—and her own harrowing journey to the discover that she was worthy all along of the life of her dreams.

Nothing Is Missing is a “sparkling and impassioned story” (Glamour) of what it takes to show up for yourself—and the joy that can come once you do. Raised in a home where food was unstable and anger was the norm, Nicole learned that she needed to take charge of her own safety and security. So she did: She got into an elite private school by talking to a stranger in her dad’s cab, she strategized her way onto Wheel of Fortune to pay for college, she adopted three girls after meeting their mother panhandling, she quit her job to launch her own business, and she struggled.

Hustling endlessly to try to achieve society’s definition of success left her exhausted, compromising her own sense of worth in order to accommodate others. Nicole worked herself straight into a health crisis that threatened her life and the family she had worked so hard to build. It was not until she was forced into a major reckoning in both her business and her marriage that Nicole realized that she was already enough, that she had and was everything that she needed. In
Nothing Is Missing, Nicole contemplates how she was able to create the life she wanted using the strength she had within herself all along.

I received this book on my doorstep yesterday evening and I just finished the last page today, less than 24 hours after receiving it. Nicole’s writing and storytelling is masterful and crafty and draws you in. BUT, it’s her heart, her grit, her sheer “life and all it brings will not beat me” attitude that bellows from the pages of this book. I’ve watched from afar, never knowing the true DEPTH of who she is as a person. You see her light and energy on social media, on business talks, etc.. without being privy to the scars, setbacks, triumphs and challenges that created who she actually is. THIS book allows us a front row seat to see it all. Also, it allows us the opportunity to examine our own selves, and our lives. This book allows readers to recognize their own “tools” gleamed from these pages to dive in with out human brokenness and come out better on the other side: whole, knowing Nothing is Missing. Thank you for actioning your gifts and the powerful reminder. Can’t wait for Part Two!!

I’ve been so excited to read this book and since the moment it arrived at my doorstep I’ve had to literally will myself to put it down. The way Nicole writes is so beautiful. I feel like I’m listening to a friend tell me their story. Ive felt engaged the entire time and I’ve also felt an overwhelming feeling of joy for Nicole and the season of life she is in now. I’ve been following Nicole on social media for many years now and I am just so happy for her and all of her success. The book is filled with so many important life lessons and stories of perseverance that have motivated me to step back and look at my life in a different way and mindfully shift my usual way of thinking. I appreciate her authenticity and transparency.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a handbook for life and business rolled into a beautifully written memoir!

This book should be required reading for everyone honestly. Not only is it an eloquently written memoir, but it is even more so a life handbook - how to navigate the inevitable challenges we will all face in life and in business.

I have known Nicole for over 8 years at this point, and realized how little I actually know about what she has been through!

You will walk away from this book a better person, and you will want to make the world a better place, but you will also literally have a voice in your head to help you navigate the hardest days. Nicole is gorgeous and absolutely brilliant, and has an absolute heart of gold.

I promise you, you will keep this book on your nightstand, full of highlighted aha moments that you will continue to refer back to. And you will want to put it in the hands of everyone you care about. Thank you for bravely sharing your life Nicole!

While this book isn’t really a self help book, as I read through it, I felt better mentally, and realized some things about myself. Excellent book!

Grateful for this book and the wisdom that Nicole is sharing with us. It is *all the things*... smart, well written, funny, sad. Human.

You finish this book and think, "dang.... I need to get out there and show up in this world."

Because everything is wrong. And everything is right. But absolutely nothing is missing.

I actively recommend and give away this book to so many people in my life. Looking for some business lessons? Great, read with that lens and you will find them (I know I have). Looking to make a career pivot? Nicole's got you. Need help standing in your purpose? She will inspire you.

I feel like some people expected her to cross boundaries that she has vocally and clearly set from the beginning. She shared a lot of her personal life but this book is as much business as it is self help book as it is memoir. And everyone, even authors of autobiographies, deserves to hold firm boundaries as to what they will and won't share. I cannot think of anyone who would waste their time reading this! An epic, impactful, inspiring book.
