About this item
Payne:
In search of: Room to rent.
Must ignore the patheticness of a 40-year-old roommate.
Preferably dirt cheap as funds are tight (nonexistent).
There’s nothing sadder than moving back to my hometown newly divorced, homeless, and lost for what my next move is.
When my little brother’s best friend offers me a place to stay in exchange for menial duties, I swallow my pride and jump at the offer.
I need this.
I also need Beau to wear a shirt. And ditch the gray sweatpants. And not leave his door ajar when he’s in compromising positions...
Beau:
In search of: Roommate.
Must be non smoker and non douchebag.
Room payment to be made in meal planning, repairs, and dumb jokes.
Since my career took off, I barely have time to breathe, let alone keep my life in order. I’m naturally chaotic, make terrible decisions, and scare off potential dates with my “weirdness”.
So when Payne gets back into town and needs somewhere to stay, I offer him my spare room with one condition: While he’s staying with me, I need him to help me become date-able.
And while he does that, I can focus on my other plan: ignoring that Payne is the only man I’ve ever wanted to date.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Delight
This book is a fun, fast-paced read and will leave you laughing, gasping, and OMG-ing. It's everything I have come to expect from Saxon James yet so much more. The text messages between the Divorced Men's Club members were hilarious. I just wish there were more, but that isn't a deal-breaker - they are just fun!
The opening scene is a dead giveaway of how the book will go, and I am sure I might do something similar - if I were in his shoes. I felt terrible for Payne, but he had a great support system (even if their 'spare' bed was a BIT too small. (Enter Beau)
Oh, Beau. I am pretty sure he is one of my favorite quirky characters now. I both love and understand how his mind works. While I don't go as far as he does, I know what it's like to become so absorbed in something that you lose track of time. His creative tactics for getting into his writing were fantastic. My favorite quote: "My first thought is dragon! but thankfully I manage to keep that one to myself because duh, Beau, dragons aren't real."
I would absolutely recommend this book if you like age-gap, laughing, quirky characters, younger brother's best friend, life-long crushes realized, great chemistry, fun characters, and witty dialogue. This book can easily be read in one sitting. Even though this is the first in a series, it stands alone, although I think we met the future MCs a time or two in the story. I feel that their stories aren't going to be dependent on the other books - it's just fun knowing you will catch glimpses of other characters within each one. Happy reading!

4.0 out of 5 stars “You’re the one who was always meant for me.”
This is really cute! And I absolutely love the beginning of this series so far. Beau is a scatterbrained workaholic, and he is absolutely convinced that he needs to change who he is in order to find someone, but as Payne gets to know him, he disagrees. That was probably one of my favorite parts about the story because they really just loved each other for who they are, and there was no judgment for the things that they went through or the things that they feel. The two of them were really supportive of one another in every single way and they were always there for each other when they needed them. I really liked the bit of jealousy from Payne as he was trying to figure out his own feelings and the adorable paper cranes and coloring tattoos and everything in between. It’s just a really sweet story overall and I’m really excited to continue!

I also kind of wish that Beau’s “quirks” were explained differently because he CLEARLY has a raging case of ADHD, likely with a side of anxiety, and would very likely benefit from medication and/or therapy to manage the symptoms & stressors that are caused by those disorders. Management isn’t a cure at all—and he doesn’t need to be “cured”—but he’d probably be happier with some ability to manage everything.
I really enjoyed the DMC group chats, too. Those were adorable & I think I’ll read the next book to get to know some of the characters a little more.
I can’t help but hope that Payne (what a strange name) changes his mind about the idea of getting remarried some day though… (shrugs).

4.0 out of 5 stars MM romance, Divorced, Roommates with Bestie's Brother, Sweet
This was charming and sweet, with both characters falling for each other and being kind and supportive to one another. They both struggle with their own self-image and value but see all the wonderful things about the other one.
Some cute memorable scenes occur related to helping the roommate brainstorm for his romance fantasy novel, from an impromptu sword fight with an umbrella and broom to building a fort in thw living room with furniture to help plan a rescue mission into an impenetrable fortress.
Plus lots of sweet notes written on little paper cranes to one another left throughout the home when their work and sleep schedules don’t line up for a while.
Goes in the same category as N.R. Walker as super sweet, charming, and not at all toxic. Great when I’m in the right mood but might be too sweet for me most of the time when im looking for mysteries and crimes in my stories.
will definitely check out more.
Read on kindle unlimited, looks like some of their books are on Scribd in audiobook form as well.
