About this item

Today is supposed to be the happiest day of my life.

I'm
engaged to the man of my dreams, and in a few short hours, I'm going to stand before a judge, who will declare us husband and wife, till death does us part. Despite some bumps in the road, this day is everything I dreamed it would be.

There's only one problem:

Someone out there doesn't want me to live long enough to say my vows.

And if I'm not careful,
they may very well get their wish.

Note:
The Housemaid’s Wedding is a winter-themed "bonus scene" short story meant to fill in the long gap between Book 2 of the Housemaid series (The Housemaid’s Secret) and Book 3 (The Housemaid is Watching). It can be listened to either between Book 2 and Book 3, or after Book 3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to the series

And last, but not least - the novella! Millie and Enzo are getting married. I couldn't have been happier for these two, and after reading book three, I couldn't wait to learn what happened on their wedding day.

The short story was a perfect addition to the series. It's technically book 2.5, but as the author says, it could be read before of after book three. If you haven't read book three yet, I would probably recommend reading the novella after book two, if you like things in chronological order.

The story was fun and light (compared to those in full books). There were so many things going wrong on Millie's wedding day, that I felt her stress! But, as always, with Enzo by her side, I knew everything would work out just fine. I really love how much trust in each other those two have. They are a power couple!

If you want to get a glimpse into Millie and Enzo's wedding day, you really must read the novella. It could be read in one sitting and is a real page-turner.

The Housemaid’s Wedding is a short story and just 63 pages. It is meant as a quick filler between books two and three of the Housemaid series. It’s not to be taken seriously; and is a fun and very quick read for the fans who wanted to read about Millie and Enzo’s wedding.

I didn’t have to read about their wedding, but when McFadden mentioned it and I was able to buy a paperback copy for the inexpensive price of $2.79 I jumped at the chance! McFadden wrote this for the fans and is not making any money off this short story being written. I enjoyed it and I listened to the entire Housemaid series on audiobook, I heard the narrator Lauryn Allman’s voice as Millie again as I read this one! Allman is perfect as Millie for me with the audiobooks. I can’t wait to see how the movie will be.

Read it or not, that is up to you as the reader. If you have enjoyed The Housemaid series then I say go for it. Just remember, it’s a very short and quick read!

5.0 out of 5 stars How can you not swoon over all that is Enzo!?

When I first read The Housemaid... I fell in love with Millie's story... I know people have their opinions on Frieda's stories but this one hit home to me due to personal life experiences and it opened my eyes to things I had tried to explain away. Anyone who's ever been in a DV relationship knows what I'm talking about.

And Enzo? So many women have different thoughts on who their perfect book boyfriend is and Enzo is mine. The way he loves and protects her with literally everything inside him... My goodness! That man is everything I hope to find in a husband one day.

I devoured these books within a week, all 3 of them, and found myself missing this couple a lot so I'm thankful Frieda wrote about the wedding we didn't get to see in the other stories. It took me right back into their story, and it made me smile! I hope we get another story one day, of Millie, Enzo, and their children but if not - this is definitely a story I will re-read again. Thank you Freida, for opening my eyes to the abuse I was enduring without even realizing it.

I love this whole series. I kind of wish this one was released before The Housemaid is Watching book but it’s not that big of a deal. This one did have me giggling quite a bit just because of Millie & Enzo’s little back and forth conversations. I really loved the ending. Was waiting to see how it was going to play out & when this stalker was going to get caught & how. Didn’t disappoint for a short quick read.

The Housemaid’s Wedding is a short story that add details for all of us who have read The Housemaid trilogy.

It is set between books 2 and 3 but it can also be read, like me, at the end of trilogy and it’s going to give you a nice point of view and a sense of realization for both of them.

I loved the dress! Omg the story of the dress was so Millie! I wouldn’t even dare to dream of another kind of wedding!

Don’t we all want our Enzo? I think so!

It’s a great short story for The Housemaid fans and you’ll read it in one sitting enjoying every detail!

    One more for Freida!

So this may contain some spoilers so read the rest with caution.

Overall great read. Short and sweet I shall say. I definitely think this book could have a little more chapters and given us a little more back story to the 718 caller and her parents. I would have like to a chapter on the proposal.

Now onto the story itself. It’s a good story but like I mentioned I would have like more on the 718 caller. I read this in like a hour so you can finish it in one sitting. I love how Enzo continues to defend Millie. I have book 3 and am excited to finish it now that I have this story on their wedding.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm . . . I wonder if . . .

Although this short story served it's purpose quite nicely as a filler between books 2 and 3, I can't help but be curious as to how it would have fared if it were written as a full length novel possibly including a honeymoon coupled with other adventurous possibilities, although the obvious restriction being that Millie and Enzo were portrayed as not having two nickels to rub together, just basically broke. Which is fine because that does add a profound element of humility to their combined personalities. They have each other and that's all they need, not to exclude the little one on the way. A fine read all in all, with that little bit of stalker intrigue thrown in for good measure.
