    This was an interesting story based upon fact. Some of the facts were obscure because of the language barrier. This is the story of grit, survival and determination.

    I read this as a child and never forgot it. I recently reread it and found that it is just as beautiful as I remember. The story is simple yet elegantly written and I would recommend to anyone, young or old.
