It is far more comprehensive than I thought it would be. It is a very good book of prayers that I could use in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. I highly recommend this book.

Having done the St. Louis de Montfort consecration, I felt something was missing, as it was hard for me to relate to all the litanies and prayers. This book was the solution to that problem. I had done a renewal of my consecration using this book on my own, and have since led two parish groups through the same process, although we did not use the whole program...just this book. Each time I read it, I take a different approach. One time I chose a word or phrase and meditated on that through the day. Another time, I kept a short journal and wrote about the meaning that day's reading had in my life at that time. I love the different saints' viewpoints on Mary and each has a very loving and warm relationship with her. There were some really deep concepts and ideas in the book, but Fr. Gaitley does a great job of going slowly and explaining them a little at a time. I met him in person at the Divine Mercy Conference in the Bronx in April and was struck by his joy and humility. He said in the book that he was inspired to write the book and it was done rather quickly. It doesn't read like something that was put together with haste, but rather is well-organized and gives very thorough explanations. I received many positive comments from both my groups, although we didn't meet as a group. It was just knowing that others in our parish were going through the same consecration preparation and that we were all praying for one another. I often thought that Mary and I had nothing in common....she was perfect, I am not...she's a mother, I am not...but she has a beautiful lesson to teach all women (and men!) regardless of their age or state in life. Perhaps her most beautiful words were those she said at the Wedding Feast of Cana, which pretty much sums up the life of a Christian..."Do whatever He tells you."

5.0 out of 5 stars Marian Consecration for the Masses

33 Days to Morning Glory is the best hands-on book for Marian Consecration available today! Michael Gaitley presents in a way that is practical, insightful and efficient. It is excellent for anyone who does not have a lot of time, yet still desires to grow spiritually. In a mere 2-3 pages a day, the spiritual firepower of Blessed Mother Teresa, Blessed John Paul II, St. Maximilian Kolbe, and the remarkable St. Louis de Montfort is unveiled in a manner that is powerful, personal and straightforward for adults and teens alike. Whatever the age of the reader, this retreat is a great place to grow closer to Jesus through his devoted mother Mary. Mary's last words in the Gospel at the wedding feast of Cana seem fitting:

1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
2 Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine."
4 [And] Jesus said to her, "Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come."
5 His mother said to the servers, "Do whatever he tells you."

-John 2:1-5

Mary desires lead us to Jesus today, just as she wished to lead us to her son almost two thousand years ago. At Cana, she was concerned with helping out the wedding couple by interceding with Jesus. Jesus granted his mother's request, even though his 'hour' had not come. Mary is just as concerned with interceding for each of us with her son today. Imagine the great things Jesus could to do in our lives if we took Mary's advice, as the servers did, and did whatever he told us.

Similar to Gaitley's "Consoling the Heat of Jesus," which enjoys a perfect five-star rating on each and every one of its 31 customer reviews at Amazon.com at the time of this post, the appendices are phenomenal in this book! They provide excellent information on Marian prayers & devotions. I hope you get the opportunity to discover this treasure!

Thanks for reading.

I initially did my 1st Consecration on December 8, 2016, after doing the 33 Days to Morning Glory retreat. I did it at home and on my own and my Parish had a special add on to the Holy Mass, where we Consecrated together. Let me say, I was going through alot of traumatic events in my life. A friend brought me the book and assured me things would be different and very transforming. She was more than right. It was the best, life altering, decision to do it. I had even sat on the book for awhile before doing it. Feeling like I wasn't worthy or ready for a commitment like this. I was amazed and still am grateful for the positive, spiritual growth. And when I say life changed for the better, I am understating it. Now on on November 5, 2019, I purchased the book for a cousin who is in Spiritual and mental need. I will do it all over again with her and have total confidence that it will alter her in a better direction. Maybe St. Louis's version is more powerful for some. But for me, the simplistic and easy going manner in which this book was written was a gem for me. As a Faith Formation teacher to 3rd and 5th graders, the layman's way is easier to comprehend. And as I have matured with time I will eventually be more educated and prepared for the St. Louis version. Do this for yourself and others. And 2 or 3 months after, reflect back and you will see for yourself how many graces found their way into your life.

Spend 15-20 minutes a day for 33 days to consecrate yourself to Mary, the Immaculate Conception. This consecration focuses on lessons in dedicating yourself to the mother of Jesus by following the teachings of Sts. Louis de Montfort, Maximillian Kolbe, Mother Theresa and Pope John Paul II. A lively and engagingly written book.

My children asked me to buy scapulars, but I didn't know much about them. I bought this book to better educate myself and them on what it means to have a devotion to Mary, but it is actually my husband who has had a life-changing encounter with our Mother. We are all learning how to love her better through this experience, and she is already rocking our world with her tender care for my husband.
