Great to have Isaac Bell and the Van Doorn team back in action. Isaac is really tested in this one, and there is action a plenty. Can the bad guys get away with the biggest heist in history. There are twists and turns all over the place. Are they enough to stop Isaac Bell, or will he manage to find the answers. His nemesis is so calculating and devious that he makes things happen unexpectedly. A great action thriller from start to finish.

Clive Cussler’s legacy is in good hands

I was really afraid that the quality of Clive’s stories and characters would suffer when he passed away, but Jack Du Brul did an excellent job of upholding the quality and enjoyment of this book. Isaac Bell has always been one of my favorite characters and he is alive and well in this book.
The case in this book is really interesting and intricate. Lots of moving parts and intrigue. Really enjoyable.

I love the Isaac Bell novel, and Jack DuBrul has kept true to Clive Cussler's style. There is nonstop excitement in this book! There is excellent detecting. I just enjoyed this book overall. The 4-star instead of 5 was because there were a few typos that were a bit jarring to me. Otherwise, well done, Mr. DuBrul.

I have read all of Clive's heroes and heroines.
Isaac Bell is my favorite series.
This last book is simply superb!!!
I would hope that Isaac will now enter the World War 2 fray: with Nazis and The Rising Sun as the evil axis envelopes world.
And, that's a fact JACK!!!!!!!

It was a different read from a Cussler story. Had more twists and turns than most. Kept me turning the pages way past the time, I needed to be doing other things.

Isaac Bell seems to get better as easy story comes out. Three days to read. Work got in the way. Can't wait for the next one.
Plus if new to story line, it is period time, so like in those long ago days.

Jack DuBrul has crafted another exceptional thriller in his third turn at Cussler's wheel. His authorship of the Oregon Files series was superb. I sincerely wish he would get Phillip Mercer and his octogenarian sidekick back in action soon!

The Heist of the century

It is 1913 and Issac Bell, lead Investigator of the Van Dorn Detective Agency, is attending a meeting between President Woodrow Wilson and 12 prestigious bankers from around the nation, on the presidential yacht. His father being the banker from Boston. Woodrow Wilson wants to launch a federal bank backed by the newly set up federal reserve. These bankers are here, selected to head the new bank in their region.
There is a reason Isaac did not follow in his father's footsteps and become a banker. He quickly becomes bored and steps out of the meeting. On deck he sees an airplane approach from a distance. Having piloted a few he watches in interest. Then it flies overhead and drops an object. Bell is no longer bored! It is an insindiary and the plane recircles for a second attempt. Through quick action Bell neutralizes the threat. Who wants to kill the President?
This incident begins a chain of events that have Bell allowing himself to be believed dead as he follows a criminal as bad as any he has matched wits with in the past. It is imperative he stops his adversary. What would happen if the newly formed federal reserve was victim the of the biggest heist in history while still in its infancy?
